2018 Florida Rankings Newcomers

With the release of the 2018 FL rankings last week, below are 5 players who are newcomers to the list along with their respective ranking.

David Luethje- 6’4” 170 RHP comes in ranked at No. 6 for the 2018 class.  Leuthje is one of the top arms in the 2018 class and will continue to draw attention as he continues to develop.  FB sits 86-89 and has been up to 90mph w/ run.  Throws an above average CB and CH for strikes.  Hits his spots.  Repeats well, displays loose arm action, and attacks batters.  Someone to keep an eye on.

Isaiah Byars- 5’11” 160 MINF comes in ranked at No. 30 for the 2018 class.  Byars is an above average defender up the middle along with range, instincts, and actions.  Displays an on line throw from across the diamond as well.  Shows some bat speed from the RH side which produces some strong line drives to all parts of the field. Runs the bases. Athletic. 6.8 60yd dash time. UCF commit.

Brady Allen- 6’0” 185 OF/LHP comes in ranked at No. 32 for the 2018 class.  Allen is a talented two way prospect that sits 84-86 FB and has been up to 87mph.  FB shows movement along with a CB with good depth and spin.  Pounds the strike zone.  Short, quick swing from the RH side.  Makes contact often and drives the ball up the middle.  USF commit

Thomas Berry- 5’11” 155 C/SS comes in ranked at No. 40 for the 2018 class.  Berry is an athletic prospect that can play multiple positions.  Behind the plate, Berry shows a strong, on line throw down to 2B.  At SS he makes the plays, displays range, and has a quick transfer.  At the plate Berry is aggressive and looks to drive the ball to all parts of the field. Ball jumps off the bat.

Chase Malloy- 5’7” 155 MINF comes in ranked at No. 52 for the 2018 class.  Malloy is a quick twitch athlete that displays some bat speed from both sides of the plate.  Squares up the ball.  In the MINF Malloy has impressed with great range and the ability to make some tough plays.  Displays good actions.  As he grows and matures, Malloy will continue to develop into a plus defender up the middle.
