CJ Butts
PBR Florida Panhandle Regional Director

The 2021 Junior State Games are set to begin this weekend at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Plenty of highly touted uncommitted and committed prospects across the Sunshine State from the 2023 class will take the diamond in Daytona.

The event is broken down into 4 regions, North, South, East, and West, with the winning region able to choose their own Mizuno glove or wood bat. Take a look at the roster HERE.

Today, we will begin to preview each team at the 2021 Junior State Games. Check out this year's North squad.

North Region

The North squad will be led by a strong staff. RHP
Isaiah Mamea (USF commit), LHP Jacob Thomas, RHP Nicholas Lorenz, and RHP JD Valdes will lead the North into the weekend. Two-Ways JD Hay, Rilee Lowery, and Will Studebaker will also see time on the mound.

Handling the catching duties will be Anthony Saleeba (USF commit), Jedd Jones, and Larson Lott.

Former Future Gamers JD Hay, Drew Reaves, and Shawn Andrade (USF commit) will man the infield along with Lowery and Studebaker. Ethan McAnally and Alex Kastensmidt will be at the hot corner.

In the outfield the North will have speedy Michael Smith Jr, along with Zack DeJesus and Jack Trochessett. Trochessett will also play the infield.

The North features an athletic and talented team that should be tough to handle this weekend.
