The West squad is mostly comprised of the top players in Southwest Florida. Starting from the Tampa-St Pete and surrounding area and working south into the Naples area. The one exception being right handed power arm, Brady Singer from Eustis HS who has signed with Florida. He has run his fastball up to 94 mph this spring and is expected to be a good draft.
The West squad is pretty strong on the mound with another right handed power arm and Florida signee, Jake Woodford from Plant HS who also runs his fastball up to 94 mph with a power breaking ball that comes and goes but is occasionally a plus pitch.
On the left side of the mound, the West team has Mike Zimmerman from Gulf Coast HS who has been mostly 86-89 with a big sweeping curveball. He has very good pitchability with good upside. He's thrown a perfect game this spring with a couple no-hitters to go along with it. North Carolina recruit, Jordan Gubelman (Sarasota HS) is a right-hander who also has a perfect game under his belt this spring.
Texas signee, Nick Kennedy from Alonso HS has been up to 90 this spring, mostly 87-88 with a good curveball. Also, LHP Shane McClanahan, a Charleston Southern commit, made a big jump in velocity this spring touching 93 and has drawn some attention from major league scouts.
Logan Allen (IMG Academy), a South Carolina commit is a lefty up to 91 with good secondary stuff and good pitchability. He is also a guy that will have a decision to make after this upcoming draft.
Offensively, the West team is missing its biggest power bat in Kyle Tucker, but has a power bat in Jason Heinrich, committed to UCF with big power who likely will also be a draft this June. Also, Ryan Karstetter (Virginia commit) is an infielder with with a super athletic body and a power bat with a lot of upside from IMG Academy.
FSU signee Donovan Petrey, an offensive OF from Port Charotte HS is a sweet swinging left-handed bat who makes a lot of hard contact to all fields. One of the fastest, most athletic OF in Sebring will be Garrett Zech from Naples HS, a USF commit that has run a sub 6.5 60 yard dash in the past.
