FL: Inside the Numbers for the Updated Overall Class of 2019 Rankings

Last week, the updated PBR Overall Class of 2019 Rankings were released. The state of Florida was well represented not only throughout the Top 400, but five players from the state of Florida fell in the Top 10 including the new No. 1 Overall ranked player in LHP Hunter Barco of Bolles HS, FL.

No. 4: OF Riley Greene (Florida recruit)
No. 5: SS Rece Hinds (Louisiana State recruit)
No. 8: OF Jud Fabian (Florida recruit)
No. 10: RHP Brandon Walker (Florida State recruit)

First, let’s look at a breakdown of where the prospects fall. Of the Top 400, Florida holds on to 60 of the spots, or 15 %.

Next, let’s look at a breakdown of the positions:

Right-Handed Pitcher - 19
Left-Handed Pitcher - 7
Infielder - 22
Catcher - 6
Outfield - 6

Finally, of all of the Florida prospects that fall in the Top 400, 52 of the 60 players are already committed to play at the next level.
