On June 7th the PBR Florida Underclass Games will take place at the University of South Florida which will feature some of the top prospects from the 2019-2021 classes from throughout the state. Leading up to the event, we will highlight some of the prospects who will be in attendance through reports and video. Today we take a look at 2020 C Travis Stapleton of Real Life Christian Academy, FL.

01/21/17- Stapleton’s defensive skills behind the plate are advanced, and he has the quick hands necessary, at the plate, to make adjustments quickly at the next level. With loose hips, Stapleton presents a wide target, and has solid hands when receiving. His pop times were very quick (1.93-1.95) thanks to strong footwork and a quick transfer. Stapleton’s arm is only going to get stronger as he continues to mature which will lower an already impressive pop time. At the plate, Stapleton can get heavy on his backside at times, but has quick hands that drive strong through the zone. Currently sporting line drive power, Stapleton shows signs of continued growth to his 5-foot-8, 160-pound frame, and will likely have gap to gap power in the future. Overall, Stapleton is still very young, and his bat will need some time to mature, but his defensive skills are already next level material.
