"Off the Chain" Showcase Camp 10/29-30/16

Rece Hinds, IF, Niceville HS, FL (2019)
The high-waisted, athletic, 6-foot-1, 185-pounder put on the most impressive performance of the day. In the field, he shows quick feet and actions with range and the ability to charge the ball. He displayed a plus arm topping out at 94 mph across the infield from shortstop, but when he was 89-91 mph across the infield he was more accurate to the bag. At the plate, he is balanced with a slightly open stance, quick hands, and above average bat speed. Consistently made hard, loud contact as he put multiple balls deep into the gaps, showed some juice from the right side almost taking a few out. At times, he can cut himself off and be out in front, but when he is on time and in rhythm, the ball explodes off his bat. Hinds will continue to be one of the top follows for his class and has really only begun to scratch the surface of his big time potential.

Elite Squad Prospect Camp 10/28-30/16

Ryan Cabarcas, LHP/OF, Somerset Academy Charter, FL (2019)
The 5-foot-10, 140-pound LHP/OF is thin, but sneaky athletic. On the mound he may have been one of the most impressive arm at the event. Showing a very clean ¾ arm action with a fastball that worked from 82-84 touching 85 mph. He creates a quality downhill action coupled with a 72-73 mph slider with tight spin and some late depth. He also showed a feel for a changeup at 72 mph. He is slight in stature, but has above average feel for three pitches and is going to be an extremely interesting arm and as he continues to grow and mature could make a very big jump.
