Junior Future Games 13U Lookback

The 13U Florida squad at the 2020 Junior Future Games was loaded with young and upcoming talent. Team Florida would go on to finish the tournament with a 5-0-1 record, and capture the 13U Junior Future Games Championship. Today, we will look back at the event and highlight each of the members of Team Florida 13U.

Team Florida 13U

JaMarques Benton OF / LHP / Home School, FL / 2025

Benton made his second straight appearance at the Junior Future Games this year. He shined in the workout portion where he sprayed the ball all over the field in bp. In game, Benton was one of the toughest outs on the team. Coming from the leadoff spot, Benton recorded 5 hits including 2 triples, and walked a whopping 8 times. Benton was a force in the field as well covering a ton of ground in center field. 

 

Brennan Confreda 1B / LHP / Viera, FL / 2025

Confreda showed a lot of promise at the Junior Future Games especially on the mound. Fastball was up to 72 from the left side. Confreda competed and pitched to contact getting quick outs and keeping the opponent off the scoreboard. 

 

Gabe Gonzalez C / 1B / Providence School of Jacksonville, FL / 2025

Gonzalez was the lone catcher on our 13U squad and caught each and every inning of the tournament. Gonzalez called his own pitches and showed advanced skills behind the plate. Gonzalez was one of the vocal leaders of the team and really helped spark the championship run. Offensively, Gonzalez collected 4 hits including 2 doubles and 4 RBI.

 

Dayson Griffis SS / RHP / Appling County, GA / 2025

Griffis was the lone non-Floridian on our JFG squad. The Georgia native made a big impact for his team. During the workout he showed power putting several balls over the fence. He led the team with the highest exit velocity off the tee at 89 mph. During the games, he led the team with 9 hits, 3 being extra base hits. On the mound, Griffis showcased a fastball up to 84 mph.

 

Skyler Jersey OF / RHP / South Walton, FL / 2025

Jersey was a key contributor to the 13U Team Florida team, and came up with big hits when it mattered most. 5 total hits in the tournament and fielded his position well in the outfield. On the mound, Jersey was up to 78 with his fastball, and looks to be a very talented pitcher in the near future.

 

Jacob Kendall SS / RHP / Bartram Trail, FL / 2025

Kendall caught our attention during the showcase workout where he hammered balls in the gap consistently from the left side. During games, Kendall had 4 hits and played very well defensively. He showed versatility playing second, short, and third base.

 

Rivers Kurland LHP / 1B / Berkeley Prep, FL / 2025

Kurland was a big contributor for the 13U team both offensively and on the mound. On the mound, he led the team with 9 innings pitched and only gave up 1 run. Kurland struck out 8 over the tournament. Offensively, Kurland had 6 hits and 5 RBI in the middle of the 13U lineup.

 

Brady Martin SS / RHP / Niceville, FL / 2025

Martin battled throughout the tournament posting several hard fought at bats. He had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Martin ran the bases well, and fielded his position efficiently at second base.

 

Nolan McClanahan 3B / OF / Merritt Island , FL / 2025

McClanahan showed off his talented bat during the showcase. He had an exit velocity of 83 mph off the tee. During bp, he showed power and he sprayed the ball near the warning tracks. In game, McClanahan had two hits, but put together several quality at bats.

 

Cooper Moss RHP / 3B / J Arnold, FL / 2025

Moss is advanced physically for his age at 6-foot, 180 pounds. He showed real promise on the mound with his fastball up to 80 mph. Moss struck out 3 in 2.2 innings pitched over the tournament.

 

Jose Perdomo SS / IMG Academy , FL / 2025

Perdomo stole the show during the JFG showcase. He ran a 6.97 60 and had an exit velocity of 87 mph off the tee. He showcased well defensively with quick feet and an arm up to 86 mph. During bp, Perdomo consistently hit the ball hard and showed advanced tools overall.

 

Ayden Phillips 3B / RHP / Suwannee, FL / 2025

Phillips showcased his power during bp where he put several balls over the fence. In game, he was second on the team with 8 hits and had 5 RBI. 

 

Aidyn Rattray LHP / 1B / Vero Beach, FL / 2025

Rattray was a big contributor on the mound for Team Florida where he logged starts in both the semifinals and championship games. He pitched 6 innings while giving up only 1 earned run and struck out 2.

 

Charlie Stumberger 3B / OF / IMG Academy, FL / 2026

Stumberger is the youngest player on the team and the only 2026 graduate. He played above his age with 3 hits in 8 at bats including a double and triple.

 

Cameron Uzzillia 1B / RHP / Calvary Christian, FL / 2025

Uzzilia was a force offensively for Team Florida. 5 total hits with 6 RBI. He showed power all tournament long and capped it off by homering in the semifinals. On the mound, Uzzillia logged 7.1 innings and showcased a fastball up to 82 mph.
