Windermere Prep Kicks Off Preseason Against Harmony

Windermere, FL—The Florida High School preseason has officially kicked off and I watched the talent heavy Windermere Prep, FL, match up against Harmony HS, FL on Tuesday. The game started off with a bang as highly touted 2016 RHP Austin Bergner started the game on the mound for Windermere Prep and went three innings with three strike outs and gave up up one hit to 2016 SS Taylor Malloy (Harmony HS, FL).  Many scouts were on hand to see the North Carolina signee kick the season off and he didn’t disappoint, as he also led the game off with double to deep center field. 2016 C Alex Crotty followed up with a double off the right field wall, and then 3B/RHP Rylan Thomas hit a three-run bomb over the center field wall to put Windermere Prep up 3-0.

The Mustangs scored again in the second on an RBI single from 2016 OF Rob Devarona. After Crotty’s second double of the game, Windermere Prep scored two more times with a two-run single from 2016 DH Jarrett Bell. 2019 RHP Casey Daiss pitched two innings of relief for Windermere. He didn't allow a hit in two innings while walking one and striking out two. Harmony finally got on the board in the sixth when 2019 IF Cole Emmons led off with a walk, followed up by a single from 2017 IF Sage McCoy. Andrew Saunders then hit into a fielder's choice that scored Emmons, making the score 6-1.  Thomas came in to close the door in the seventh.  The Central Florida signee gave up a single and struck out three, giving Windermere Prep a 6-1 win.
