Witherspoon Ks 10, Fletchers improves to 3-0

Fletcher defeated Ponte Vedra 9-3 on Tuesday night thanks to a five-run fourth inning. Fletcher’s offense in the inning came from walks by Ethan Dearen and Vinnie Sicilia and a single by Malachi Witherspoon.

Ponte Vedra got on the board in the first inning by an error that allowed two runs to score.

Fletcher took the lead for good with a two-spot in the third inning. In the third Grant Tucker grounded out, scoring two runs, one being a wild pitch during his at-bat. 

Fletcher put up five runs in the fourth inning to break this game open. The big bats were led by Witherspoon, Dearen, and Sicilia all registering RBIs in the inning.  

On the mound, Malachi Witherspoon was credited with the victory for Fletcher. The Fastball was up to 93 mph allowing two hits and two unearned runs over five innings, striking out ten and walking one. Adam Fordenbacher came in relief going two innings out of the bullpen.


Sam Demaio took the loss for Ponte Vedra allowing seven hits and four runs over three innings, striking out four.

The Senators collected nine hits, Malachi Witherspoon, Dylan Lee, and Tucker all had multiple hits on the night.
