Fall Upperclass Games Preview: Early Look at Pitchers to Watch

Blake Davis
State Director

Here is an early look at five pitchers to remember for the upcoming Fall Upperclass Games on November 10th at Piedmont College.

Micah Ledford, RHP, Mountain View HS (GA), 2021

Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed pitcher with solid lower half. Came out of the pen with an impressive curveball/fastball combination. Curveball showed late, sharp bite, thrown aggressively at 69-70. Garnered several ugly swings/misses with it. Fastball sat 84-85, seemingly jumped up on hitters due to the ease of it out of the hand.

Brendan Parks, LHP, North Atlanta (GA), 2020

Uncommitted. One of the breakout stars of the PBR Fall Classic. Standing at 6-foot-2, 200-pounds, Parks has a strong, durable frame, a wide build with room to add strength throughout frame and firm up areas. Arm works loose and easy on the back-side out to a high ¾ slot. Drop and drive delivery, works on-line, lands square, finishes crossing over. Was dominant in his start against Allatoona. Fastball sat 86-88, touching 89 (2380-2460rpm), controlled the zone with, induced swing and misses with, blew it by hitters often. Mixed in a 12/6 curveball at 72-75 (2280-2325rpm), showed depth, maintained arm speed and slot creating deception. Kept hitters guessing.

Halton Hardy, RHP/3B, East Jackson (GA), 2020

2020 RHP Halton Hardy checks in at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds.  He is a strong kid with some funk in the back, that can run his fastball up into the mid-80's with deception due to his cross fire delivery.  Breaking ball is still a little inconsistent as he works through an offline arm with a cuff in the back, but when he is on time shows promising break.  Upside to this strong bodied athletic kid with some feel to play.

Reece Chambers, RHP/SS, Cherokee Bluff (GA), 2021

Thick build at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds. Impressed on the mound and at the plate over the weekend. Showed advanced hands in the infield and good carry on throws. Swung the bat with aggression. On the mound, showed feel for the zone, primarily using fastball to get outs. Fastball sat 82-85 with late tail through the zone. Solid arm that knows how to pitch.

2021 RHP/MIF Agyei Quinichett checks in at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds. He is a fluid athlete on the mound with a compact arm stroke behind him and a free and easy finish out front. Fastball can get into the upper 80's and flashes shape to the makings of a solid breaking ball.  Athletic kid with upside, due to athleticism on the mound. Also a position player with good ingredients in the batter's box.
