No. 14 Benedictine v Providence School (FL) & No. 23 Bolles (FL) (4.1.21)

Carter Holton, LHP, Benedictine, 2021
5-foot-11, 185 pound left-handed pitcher. The Vanderbilt commit worked an uptempo delivery and attacked hitters early recording 11 of the 12 outs via strikeout. Holton’s Fastball sat 90-93 mph and touched 94 mph. Showed advanced feel for a plus Curveball with 1/7 shape that dropped off the table at 74-76 mph, Slider at 77-79 mph, and a Changeup at 83-84 mph.
Final line (4 IP, 5 H, 7 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 11 K’s)

Justin Thomas, OF, Benedictine, 2022
Georgia commit. 5-foot-11, 175 pound outfielder, athletic build. The 2020 Future Games MVP was impressive showing his ability to launch to the pull side gap effectively homering in Game 1 against Providence. Thomas is an all around athlete that can cover a lot of ground in center field and is an impact bat with quick twitch in the Benedictine lineup.

St. Pius X v Northview (4.1.21)

Agyei Quinichett, RHP, St. Pius X, 2022
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 182-pound right-handed pitcher, athletic build, strong lower half. Clean, circular arm action, comes out of an over-the-top slot, quick arm speed. Cruised through his start against northview, 5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 12 K. Pounded the zone with his fastball, located to all parts of the zone. Dropped in curveball when he needed effectively. Fastball sat 84-87, touched 88. Curveball, 71-73, 12/6 shape, depth, swing and miss potential.

William Tippett, SS/RHP, St. Pius X, 2022
South Carolina commit. 6-foot-1, 155-pound switch-hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher, lean build, an elite athlete in the class. Has the tools to stick at shortstop or make a move to center field at the next level. Quick, whippy swing, line drive approach, can spray the ball. Speed puts pressure on the defense, has a chance to beat any throw out on the infield and is a constant base stealing threat. On the mound, worked 83-85.

Mount Paran v Darlington (4.1.21)

Tate McKee, RHP, Mount Paran, 2023
6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed pitcher, lean, athletic build, projectable, lots of filling out to do, more in the tank. Arm works short and clean on the back-side, accelerates with quick arm speed, some effort through release. Tall and fall delivery, works on-line, falls off towards first. Fastball sat 84-87, touched 89. Curveball, 71-74, 12/6 shape, flashed depth and swing and miss potential when low in zone. Did a nice job of mixing pitches and looks. Relied primarily on fastball first time through the lineup. Started to use curveball more and more the second and third time through the lineup.

No. 9 Houston County v No. 17 West Laurens (3.30.21)

Brodie Chestnutt, RHP, Houston County, 2021
Florida State commit. 6-foot-4, 225-pound right-handed pitcher, physically advanced, developed lower half. Consistent strike thrower, low effort delivery. In a 15-0 4-inning win over West Laurens, went 4.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 5 K. Fastball ranged 87-90. Curveball, 75-77.

Northwest Whitfield v Cedartown (3.23.21)

Cade Fisher, LHP, Northwest Whitfield, 2022
Florida commit. 6-foot-4, 187-pound left-handed pitcher, large, projectable frame, plenty of physical development left to do, more in the tank. Looks to have shortened up his arm action some on the back-side since our last viewing at Area Code Games. Easy effort to a ¾ slot, repeats well. Drop and drive, gets down the mound well with a long stride. Low effort throughout. Strike thrower, pounds the zone with three pitches. Fastball sat 86-89 most of the game, touching 90 and 92 in the 2nd inning. Slider, 77-80, out-pitch, depth, sharp 11/5, confident in, threw in any count for a strike. Changeup, 81, rarely used. Put in a dominant performance against Cedartown: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 17 K.
