IMG National Classic Day Two Standouts

Wednesday featured day two of the IMG National Classic as three rounds of bracket play games took place. While I did sit on a handful of games a little longer than others, I bounced around to check out a few guys I wanted to follow. Malone may have put together his best outing of the year and by far the best outing I have seen from him. Not only did he sit 92-95 mph with his fastball for seven innings, he kept the delivery more simple and repeated for the entire outing. Showed a compact, clean arm action and feel for all three pitches. Most importantly, the slider was the best I have seen it, sitting 82-85 mph with ard, late action and showing above average the entire outing. Flashed an occasional changeup, but overall demeanor and presence, as well as some small adjustments to maintain more simplicity have proved to be very fruitful. Malone would strike out 10 while walking a pair and allowing one hit in a complete game shutout win.
