Today, and in the days following, we want to shine a spotlight on the uncommitted prospects, specifically 2021s. We started with left-handed pitchers and right-handed pitchers, followed by the battery rams that manage them, catchers. Last week we took a look at the prospects who man the hot corners, corner infielders. Today, we continue with a strong group of 31 uncommitted middle infielders. Keep reading below for reports and video from each prospect's last appearance at LakePoint.

Aidan Stewart, SS, Next Level Academy (AL), 2021
9/22/19 - 6-foot-5, 178-pound, switch-hitting shortstop, highly projectable athlete, long, lanky frame with strength throughout, will continue to add strength and fill out. Offensively has started to really put it all together at the plate, is an advanced combination of hit and power tool. Has feel in the box and situational awareness, knows how to get the job, execute when called upon, does not try to play outside himself. Executed a perfect hit and run on Saturday morning, hitting behind the runner into right field, allowing the runner to advance to third base. Put on a show the rest of the weekend by blasting pitch after pitch, collected multiple triples as he consistently drove the ball middle/pull, capped it all off by crushing a HR from the right-side on Sunday morning (90 mph exit velocity). Can flat out play, making himself into a highly coveted prospect.

Connor Sampers, MIF, Buford HS (GA), 2021
10/5/19 - Uncommitted high-follow prospect. Wiry-athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder. Barreled up baseballs throughout the day for Devine Baseball. Balanced, relaxed approach, allows the ball to travel deep, quick and compact at launch. Delivered three line-drive hits, including a double, in Devine’s first game Saturday. Overall mature, confident approach in the box.

Parker Willis, SS, Carrollton, 2021
9/13/19 - 5-foot-10, 145-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder, a lean athlete. Stuck out on the very first day of the weekend for the consistent loud contact he made, routinely put together quality at-bats throughout the weekend as well. Takes a line drive approach at the plate, uses the entire field hitting the ball where it is pitched. Open setup, long strie, hands start low and load up, hits on his front foot.

Will Brown, OF/SS, Rickards (FL), 2021
9/28/19 - 5-foot-8, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and shortstop is built with strength throughout his lower, apparent athleticism. Continues to impress offensively with his approach and consistent ability to drive the ball gap-to-gap. Taps into the overall strength of his frame, especially his legs, to drive the ball. Hands work athletically and quickly to get the barrel head out and gain extension through the zone. Great hand eye coordination and feel for the zone allow for him to barrel up pitch after pitch. A must watch at-bat every time he comes to the plate as he can take one deep at any moment. Launched a two-run home run 357 feet, 92 mph exit velocity, on Saturday evening against Georgia Roadrunners.

Gehrig Frei, SS, South Forsyth (GA), 2021
9/28/19 - 6-foot-0 165 pounds. Frei was another outstanding infielder the Jackets 17U National squad, he made his impact known defensively and offensively on the day. He had loud contact in half his at bats while drawing multiple free passes, the switch hitter only hit left handed on the day but there was a lot to like about Frei from the left side. Defensively, he turned heads when he made a play in the whole and made a strong accurate accurate jump throw to secure the out on the play. Frei is athletic and looked to be able to man any spot on the infield if called to do so.
