Season Review: Parkview
April 18, 2020
Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season cancelled, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. We have sent surveys out to coaches around the state and got their input on the first weeks of the season. Over the next few weeks, we will highlight the season and standout players, team by team.

5/15/19 - 6-foot-2, 205-pound Stephens has a well proprtioned pitchers frame and can run his fastball into the high 80's. His secondary stuff is still inconsistent, but shows some shape to his breaking ball when he is on time. Good looking young right-handed arm.
Graham Yntema, LHP, Parkview, 2020
Lawson State commit
Season Stats: 2-0, 13.2 IP, 30 K, 9 BB, 2 ER, 1.02 ERA, .805 WHIP

5/28/19 - Checking in at 6-foot-3, 213-pounds, Yntema has great size from the left side. He has a repeatable, deliberate delivery from a ¾ slot. The Parkview southpaw offers a three-pitch mix with his fastball that is up to 84 mph, curveball that works in the 69-72 mph range, and changeup, 77 mph. Yntema projects as a bottom-of-the-zone lefty who should throw a heavy fastball, because of the way it comes out of his hand. He has a promising arsenal and size that should make him an intriguing prospect as he continues to learn how to command at the bottom of the zone.
Jack Davis, C/OF, Parkview, 2020
North Georgia commit
Season Stats: .343 AVG, .442 OBP, 2 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR, 12 RBI, 8 R
5/28/19 - Davis is a tall/lean catching prospect, listed at 6-foot-4, 180 pounds. He has the build to grow into good strength in the future and handle the rigors of the position well. At the plate, Davis has a quiet setup with a slight leg lift, giving him good balance and the ability to use his leverage to all fields. His smooth swing produced and exit velocity of 90 mph, with more to come as he fills out his large frame. Defensively, Davis has the flexibility to play low to the ground behind the plate and he possesses an accurate arm and still has projection to add to his present arm strength. He is a strong catching prospect right now with even more room to grow. Davis is an interesting two-way prospect with more to come.

10/11/19 - A familiar face around LakePoint this summer and fall, Houck appeared to really turn a corner this weekend facing competition mostly a year his elder. At 6-foot-1, 170-pounds he is physically advanced for his age and is still growing, displays athleticism throughout his entire game. Offensively, he sets up shoulder width apart with his weight displaced on his back leg, hands load back smoothly with a slight drop. A gap-to-gap hitter, he has shown time and time again advanced bat speed and natural loft in his swing, allowing for him to elevate and drive the ball with force. Defensively he more than aptly holds down shortstop with smooth hands and quick release, plenty of arm strength to stick on the left-side. Given his present abilities and the physical maturation to come, the future is exciting for Houck.
