As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

Head Coach Seth Paul and the Cowan Blackhawks expect to compete for a Regional title in 2014.  The Blackhawks return six starters and 3 arms from last year's 15-11 team. Leading the way for Cowan is Junior SS/OF Luke Miller, the No. 15 ranked prospect in Indiana's class of 2015 rankings.  Miller led the team in home runs, and batting average last season as sophomore.  The 6-foot-4, 180 pound Miller finished the season hitting .534 with five home runs. Sophomore 2B Brady Harris returns after starting all 26 games last year as a freshman.  Harris is a solid defender and had an OPS of .560 last spring.  Senior OF Brady Cooper averaged an RBI per game in 2013 with 26 on the year.  The 6-foot-2, 220 pound Cooper posted an OPS of .830 while hitting 5 2Bs and 2 HRs as Junior. Paul will look to incoming freshman Kasey Henderson for major contributions this season.  The 5-foot-10, 175 pound 1B/LHP will start the season as the No. 2 on the mound and will serve as the Blackhawks lead off hitter.
