OUTLOOK:

The Lafayette Harrison Raiders and Head Coach Pat Lowrey are looking to improve upon last year's 3-25 record and 0-17 mark in arguably the state's toughest baseball conference, the Hoosier Crossroads.  Good news for the Raiders in 2014 is they return 9 position starters.  Leading the way this spring will be sophomore SS/OF Carter Bridge.  As a freshman Bridge was a key leader on the team and hit .234 with 13 RBI.  On the mound the Raiders are led by LHP Matt McConnell, currently ranked No. 60 in Indiana's class of 2015 rankings.  THe 5-foot-11, 170 pound lefty threw in 39.6 innings as a sophomore, striking out 33 and finishing with a 3.88 ERA.  Wabash commit, Nick Torres, returns for his senior season at Harrison.  As a junior the 5-foot-10, 175 pound OF hit .364 with 2 HR, 7 2B, 14 Runs and an OBP of .468. Kankakee commit, Jordan Doyle, a 6-foot-5, 200 pound senior LHP, returns as key contributor on the mound.  Last spring Doyle finished with a 2.79 ERA and 40 Ks. MIF/RHP Jake Fernung is also expected to contribute this season.  The 5-foot-11, 170 pound Junior hit .308 with 13 Runs, and an OBP of .413 last spring.  The Raiders should be improved from last year, however, the road is tough once they begin conference play.
