OUTLOOK:

The Perry Meridian Falcons and Head Coach John Carpenter finished last season with a 15-11 overall record and were 2-5 in Conference Indiana play.  This year's team appears to be very young and inexperienced as they return just 4 starters and 4 pitchers.  A pair of seniors will lead the 2014 squad. Dayton Brummitt, a RHP/OF, will play a key role on the mound for the Falcons.  The 5-foot-10, 150 pound righty picked up quality innings out of the bullpen in 2013.  Senior Colin Timmons, a 6-foot-4, 220 pound OF, returns after leading the team in HR's (4) and RBI as a Junior. Timmons is currently ranked No. 93 in Indiana's class of 2014 rankings.  Junior infielder Kyler Fleener served as a solid 3B last spring while hitting just under .300.  The 5-foot-11, 160 pound Fleener could make the move to second base this spring. A pair of sophomores expected play key roles for the Falcons in 2014 are Mitchell Garrity and Max Heyob. Garrity, an OF/LHP, was the lead-off hitter last season and hit well above .300. The 5-foot-11, 170 pound lefty should also be a large contributor on the mound with his low-80s fastball.  Heyob, a SS/RHP, hit in the 2 and 5-holes last year and was second on the team in RBI.  The 5-foot-9, 145 pound sophomore is making the switch to SS this season after having an excellent freshman year at second base. Carpenter is hoping his young and inexperienced team becomes more and more competitive as the season goes on.
