2026 Fall State Games: Saturday Preview

Cooper Trinkle
Scouting Director

The Indiana Fall State Games now has nearly 200 college commitments in the five-year history that we have run the event, including (44) eventual Division I signees. This year's edition looks to be on par with several enticing names on the list amongst the recruitable players. For a quick preview, I've compiled a "cheat-sheet" of sorts for recruiters, highlighting all unsigned seniors and twenty of the highest ranked 2028's, beginning with Saturday's session below.

Each prospect will only participate on one specific day, Saturday or Sunday. Stay on the lookout for exact pitching rotations for each day, along with the Sunday preview to follow.

Unsigned Seniors

+ RHP Isaiah Frank, Brebeuf Jesuit
The top unsigned senior at the event per our 2027 rankings. 6-foot, 180-pound righty with a real quick arm that we've seen up to 89+ mph. Short, compact nature of the arm stroke allows for a breaking ball that will miss bat at the next level, will show a change also. Can fill it up and there is a path for him to start in some capacity at the next level.

+ RHP Dylan Pearcy, Southport
Bigger 6-foot-3, 190-pounder with some upside as the body refines and a chance to end up physical down the road. Fastball should reach into the mid-80s, at least, as a longer arm swing is powered by a quick shoulder. Breaking ball has flashed 2400+ raw spin. Could easily see him leaving as a winner, or making significant jumps in college.

+ RHP Cash Thompson, Silver Creek
Athletic 6-footer who just turned 17. Has been up to 85 in front of our staff with several intriguing shapes; 2500+ SL & sub-1000 change.

+ OF Isaac Ochoa, Lake Central
Undersized-but-twitchy, 5-foot-9, 150-pounder who was a regular down the stretch for the 4A State Champs last spring. 6.7-runner with some unassuming strength / bat speed in the right-handed swing. Could profile in center at the next level.

+ 1B Noah Hayes, Fort Wayne Canterbury
Lengthy-framed, 6-foot-4, 180-pounder who can leverage and holds power potential as the frame fills out. 7.11-runner who is likely athletic enough to play a corner outfield spot in college. High-academic.

+ 3B Aaron Peetz, Franklin Central
A corner infielder with present physicality that translates to solid tools across the board; 7.09-runner, 99.8 peak EV, 84 IF arm.

+ 1B Evan Stone, Lawrence North
+ C/IF Piercen Nasser, Tipton
+ C Dallas Taylor, Bloomington South
+ OF Lucas Parker, Kankakee Valley
+ RHP Joey Acquaviva, Zionsville

Top Ranked 2028's in Attendance

+ OF Jacob Forystek, Lake Central
Future Gamer in 2026; ranked #19 overall in the state, #471 nationally, top uncommitted OF on the board. LHH with standout movement patterns and twitch; 99+ peak exit velocities, 6.91 runner, 94 OF arm.

+ OF/SS Ben Finney, Kouts
Ranked #35 overall, #8 OF in the class. Twitchy, 5-foot-11, 150-pound versatile athlete who has a track record of success. 6.7-runner who could legitamitely play up the middle at the DI level in centerfield and in the middle of the infield.

+ SS/RHP Drew Dalton, Decatur Central
Ranked #36 overall, #9 SS in the class. Rangier, athletic, 6-foot-1, 180-pounder who carries a consistent right-handed hit tool that has produced near-triple digit exits. 6.7-runner with arm strength that translates to the mound.

+ RHP Matthew Kulig, Andrean
Ranked #42 overall, #16 RHP in the class. Projectable, 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame. Fastball reached 87+ in the winter and spins a well-above average slider, will not be surprised to see higher velocities at this event. SS background.

+ RHP/C Logan Matiya, Columbia City
Ranked #47 overall, #17 RHP in the class and also the #4 ranked catcher. 6-foot-2, 195-pounder with upside on both sides of the ball. Fastball has reached 87 mph, can work from multiple slots, and spins an above average slider. Arm translates to the crouch; offensive profile also includes right-handed bat strength with peak exits north-of 98 mph at previous events.

+ 1B Cooper Harmon, Guerin Catholic
Ranked #51 overall and is the top-ranked 1B in the class. Owns some of the classes' biggest raw power with recorded peak exits of 105 mph from the left-side. More athletic than his 6-foot-1, 215-pound frame would suggest, also plays QB in football.

+ SS Kalieb Walter, Columbia City
Ranked #57 overall; #13 SS. Upside pick with plenty of projection to a young-looking, 5-foot-11 frame. Soft hands at short with a chance to stick there in college if the athlete continues to trend as it has. Hits left-handed with a sweet swing.

+ OF Caleb Wilson, Crown Point
Ranked #58 overall; #11 OF. Sweet lefty stroke carries the profile and features a blend of contact skills and emerging power. Secondary tools have a chance to jump at least a grade as his 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame matures; 7.05 runner in June.

+ LHP Andrew Rathbun, Leo
Ranked as a T10 southpaw in the class heading into the event. A name who has shown well on the fall circuit, we saw Rathbun up to 86 at the Grand Park Fall Championships and he has rumored to reach even louder velocities. Loose arm with athleticism and projection; 6-foot, 160-pounder.

+ RHP Henry Skeen, Lawrence North
Ranked #67 in the class currently, Skeen is on an upward trajectory after showing improvements in overall control and velocities this fall. We saw him up to 89 at the Grand Park Fall Championships in September and I wouldn't be surprised if he reaches into the low-90s at this event. 6-foot-1, 180-pounder.

+ C Graham Vinson, Hagerstown
A top 5 catcher in the class, Vinson boasts a high-waisted frame that holds plenty of room for future strength in a 6-foot, 185-pound frame. One of the top throwers of any catcher in the class, Vinson also brings upper-90s exits and power potential from the right side of the dish.

+ OF Gavin Helpingstine, Andrean
Ranked #78 overall and the #16 outfielder, Helpingstine brings a very loud toolset that I am excited to see at this event. Lean, wiry, 5-foot-11 frame that has produced triple digit exit velocities and a 6.62 60-yard dash.

+ RHP Connor Buck, Charlestown
Ranked #81 overall, Buck will likely reach into the mid-80s with a fastball while spinning a pair of breaking balls that will go near 3,000 rpms.

+ LHP Kyler Wood, Fort Wayne Blackhawk
Ranked #83 overall. An athletic southpaw that will work low-to-mid-80s with several shapes. Has some projection to a 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. A great name to follow, undoubtedly, who could boost his stock at this event.

+ RHP Jayce Cunningham, Guerin Catholic
Ranked #84 overall, Cunningham is coming off injury, but reached 87 mph in 2025 and appears to be on an upward trajectory now that he is healthy. Strong frame with clear projection at 6-foot-3, 183-pounds.

+ OF Mitchell Finelli, Zionsville
#85 overall; #17 OF. Stands at 6-foot-4, 180-pounds with clear runway to add immense physicality and elevate already-solid tools across the board; 7.05-runner with an 86 mph OF arm and exits that have reached 95 mph in the past.

+ SS Gavin Byrum, Jay County
#90 overall; #18 SS. 6.9-runner who stands at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds and has shown bat-to-ball and fundamentally sound skills as a left-side infielder. Another projection-type prospect who could continue to elevate both his tools and strength.

+ SS/RHP Blake Jacobs, Eastbrook
Attending his first Prep Baseball event, Jacobs is a sleeper to make big jumps in our rankings as a 6-foot-2, 165-pound SS/P. He looks the part on the infield, and our staff saw him up to 86 mph on the fall circuit.

+ RHP JP Brundage, New Palestine
Physical-framed, 6-foot-3, 205-pounder who we have seen up to 86 this fall, and has been rumored to reach higher since. Another one of many intriguing 2028 right-handers slated to throw on Saturday.
