Chicago Preseason I.D.: Outfielder Analysis

By: Adam Panayotovich
Area Scout

The inaugural Chicago Preseason I.D. was held on Feb. 23 at the Pullman Community Center in Chicago, IL. The event saw 80+ players from the greater Chicagoland area ranging from all HS classes, 19' to 22'.

Shortly following the event we shared an instant analysis from the showcase with our Quick Hits and Stat Story. Yesterday we began the positional breakdown with the catchers and today we look at all outfielders in attendance.

Brandon Rogers (Brother Rice) may be a 2022 prospect, but there is no lack of talent in his game hence the top rank. There is plenty of twitch and upside the Crusaders will dream on as he continues to mature his already impressive frame and actions. Make sure to keep an eye out for the infielder analysis top ranks, as Rogers has just as much talent on the infield dirt.

Robert Walker III (Kenwood, 2020) finished right behind Rogers, but blew away all competition in the 60-yard dash running a blazing 6.67. A twitchy, highly athletic multi-positional player, Walker has rhythm in his swing and plays with bounce in the outfield.

Brother Rice has a promising future as another 2022 Crusader rounds out the Top-3 in Jack Lausch. An able runner at 7.07, Lausch has an advanced swing for a freshman with just as much upside on the mound, perhaps a little more.

To see how the Top-10 list played out along with analysis on all other outfielders at the Chicago event, continue on below.
