Indiana Insider: Overall 2019 Rankings, Indiana Analysis

By Phil Wade
Indiana Executive Director

Much has changed over the course of four months since we last updated the Class of 2019 overall rankings, starting with the speed at which these rising sophomores are pledging their verbal commitments.

Good, bad or indifferent, recruiting is moving at a breakneck pace these days. How fast, exactly? In the updated and expanded Top 150 overall 2019 rankings, the first 12 players are already committed, and 24 of the top 30. In all, more than a third (56) of the top 150 have made their pledges.

It is important to note that the PBR overall rankings only include the states that we intimately know from our boots-on-the-ground scouting staff. The updated Top 150 Class of 2019 rankings is comprised of our current 31-state coverage area, which now includes North Carolina. Recently launched Oklahoma is currently not included in the overall rankings.

Below we take a look at the seven Indiana players that made the updated Top 150 list.

TOP 25

20. Joe Wilkinson, RHP, Providence HS: Ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Indiana, the 6-foot-3, 185 pounder possesses an athletic, projectable pitchers frame.  In the spring we saw Wilkinson up to 86, sitting in the 82-84 range.  Over the summer he made a slight jump in velocity reaching 88 on multiple occasions.  The breaking ball is slow, sitting in the upper 60s to low 70s, but does show good rotation, flashing good depth on occasion.  Wilkinson is committed to Louisville.
