Indiana Recruiting Notebook

Several more prospects have recently named their schools:

Dillin Diehm, 1B, Garrett HS, 2015: A top 10 player in Indiana’s 2015 class, Diehm is a 6-foot-2, 195 pound left handed swinging 1B that committed to Indiana State. He’s one of the top left handed swinging 1B in the Midwest. Diehm was a participant in last June’s Top Prospect Games at IU and also attended the Preseason All State Showcase last February in Indy. 

Will Larue, OF/SS, Evansville Mater Dei HS, 2014:  LaRue is ranked as the No. 52 prospect in Indiana’s class of 2014.  He recently committed to Xavier. LaRue, a switch hitter, runs a 6.62 60.  He attended the 18U Nationals Showcase at Victory Field this past summer. 

Jordan Young, RHP/1B, McCutcheon HS, 2014:  Young is a 6-foot-2, 210 pound senior committed to Vincennes.  He was a member of the 2012 Team Indiana at the MWFG Games.  On the mound he’s been up to 86 mph.  Young also participated in the Top Prospect Games at IU last June.  He is ranked No. 50 in Indiana’s 2014 class. 

Joe Ault, RHP/3B, Homestead HS, 2014: Ranked No. 59 in the 2014 class, Ault is a 6-foot-5, 180 pound senior that committed to Parkland.  He’s been up to 87 mph on the mound.  Ault participated in the Top Prospect Games at IU this past June and also attended last week’s Unsigned Senior Showcase. 

Angel Figueroa, MIF, Bishop Noll HS, 2014:  The 5-foot-8, 165 pound MIF has committed to Black Hawk College in Moline, IL.  Figueroa attended last winter’s Preseason All State Showcase in Indianapolis.  Figueroa possesses some of the best tools defensively up the middle as anyone in the state.  He is ranked No. 63 in Indiana’s 2014 class.

Jeff Wetzler, MIF, Castle HS, 2014:  The 5-foot-10, 150 pound MIF recently committed to Parkland.  Wetzler was a participant in last weekend’s Unsigned Senior event in Indianapolis.

Jordan Doyle, LHP, William Henry Harrison HS, 2014:  The 6-foot-5, 205 pound senior committed to Kankakee Valley.  Doyle attended 2012’s Preseason All State Showcase in Indianapolis.  

Jake Byrd, MIF, Decatur Central HS, 2014:   A 5-foot-11, 170 pound infielder from Decatur Central committed to Vincennes.
