Indiana Recruiting Notebook

Six more players in the 2014 class named their schools this week.  Here is a quick look at who is going where:

Austin Hooker, OF/1B, Tipton HS, 2014: The 6-foot-1, 220 pound Hooker committed to Indiana University. Hooker is a physical, athletic left handed hitter with projectable power.  He's currently ranked No. 51 in the 2014 class.   

Jay Prior, RHP, Center Grove HS, 2014: The 6-foot-3, 220 pound RHP is headed to Lincoln Trail.  Prior was a participant at this summer's Top Prospect Games at IU.  He throws a heavy fastball at 83-85 and creates a lot of momentum in his delivery.  His curveball sits 67-69 with some depth.  Prior is ranked No. 59 in Indiana's 2014 class. 

Josh Turnock, C, Mishawaka Marian HS, 2014:
 Turnock recently committed to Eastern Illinois.  The 5-foot-11, 195 pound catcher was a participant at this summer's Top Prospect Games.  He's consistently around a 2.00 with his pop times and displays good pop from the left side of the plate.  He possesses good speed for a catcher, running a 7.15 60 at a PBR event last winter.  Turnock is ranked No. 88 in Indiana's 2014 class. 

Jason Sterrett, LHP, Delphi HS, 2014:  The LHP out of Delphi recently committed to Indiana Tech. This spring we saw him sit 80-84 mph with the fastball.  Sterrett is ranked No. 99 in Indiana's 2014 class. 

Austin Gossman, RHP, Avon HS, 2014: The 5-foot-10, 160 pound Gossman recently committed to Vincennes University.  At the Unsigned Senior showcase this past October he 80-83 mph with his fastball good run and sink action.  Gossman is ranked No. 147 in Indiana's 2014 class. 

Bryant Jackson, RHP, Linton-Stockton HS, 2014:  The 6-foot-2, 180 pound RHP committed to Vincennes University.
