 The top ranked right-hander still left on the board in Indiana’s 2023 class, Cooke was very solid in this look, going 6 IP, allowing 6 H, 2 BB, and 3 ER, while striking out 12. The projectable, 6-foot-4, 215 pound righty worked 85-89 T 90 mph on his fastball, showing some late life and getting S/M in the strike zone with the fastball. The slider worked at 75-79 mph and he flashed a couple with sharp, late break, but overall the slider was a bit inconsistent. Cooke flashed a changeup at 78-79 mph but was mostly fastball/slider in this look. Cooke pitches from a simple, stretch-only delivery and attacks hitters with long arm action from an over-the-top slot.
