JUPITER, FL – Nearly 14 straight hours of baseball, 10 teams and a boatload of prospects … yep, Day 2 of the World Wood Bat Championships was sensory overload in many different ways.

One of the top highlights was saved for Friday’s final game, when RHP Sam Bordner (Bloom Carroll HS, OH) squared off against Chet Lemon’s Juice. Pitching for the Kentucky Baseball Club, the hulking 6-foot-6, 220-pound Bordner established himself as a high-follow draft prospect with his performance. Bordner came out the gates hot, sitting 89-91 in the first inning, and topping at 92. In the second inning, the Louisville recruit worked at 89-90 before dipping a few ticks in the third and fourth innings. In the fifth inning, Bordner, was still pitching at 87-89.

Early on, Bordner also flashed a solid 78-82 mph slider, to go along with a promising 81-83 mph changeup. In 4.2 innings, Bordner recorded four strikeouts in a 4-0 loss.

Aside from Bordner, here’s a state-by-state brain-dump of the highlights I saw on Friday:
