MCYSA International Showcase: Position Analysis

By Drew Locascio
Illinois Scouting Director

The MCYSA International Showcase took place on Wednesday, July 27th at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake, IL. Today we begin the analysis from the event with a look at the position players.

2018 catcher Bryce Moskiewicz showed as one of the top position players of the event after flashing impressive arm strength from behind the plate (81 mph) and a strong swing. Another top performer was 2018 two-way prospect Nick Skurka. Right-handed hitting Skurka made consistent hard contact at the plate with a simple approach.

A 2020 to keep an eye on down the road is Ken Middleton. Middleton is a lanky, projectable right-handed hitter with a short, quick stroke at the plate.
