He possesses a strong build with some arm strength at 81 mph from the outfield.  At the plate he showcase some projectable power with good rhythm.

PBR: Why did you choose Marian University?

Turpen: I chose Marian because I loved the educational part of the school, as well as what Coach Bacon was doing with the baseball program.

PBR: Were there any other schools you were considering?

Turpen: Cedarville University was the only other school that made an offer. I was also considering Grace College.

PBR: Where did Marian first see you compete?

Turpen: Marian first saw me compete at a tournament two summers ago.

PBR: What do the coaches at Marian expect of you when you first arrive on campus?

Turpen: Coach Bacon expects me to come in and work my way into the lineup.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer, and how have they helped you in your baseball career?

Turpen: I have played for a couple different teams including Pony Express, Indiana Outlaws, and Indiana Sox. Each summer the team I was on allowed me to further my baseball abilities, as well as play against the elite teams in the region.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Turpen: My dad has hands down had the biggest impact on me not only as a baseball player, but also as a person. He was my first coach, and has always had a hand in the things I do.

PBR: What are your goals personally this off-season?

Turpen: This off-season I'd like to bulk up a bit in the weight room, fix a small things in my swing, and develop a stronger arm.

PBR: What are your goals individually and as a team this coming spring?

Turpen: My goal for this spring is to be all-county, and more importantly win a sectional.

PBR: What is your greatest baseball memory to date?

Turpen: Playing down in a Perfect Game tournament in Georgia I was able to throw out a Louisville commit at home plate that helped us stay in the game.
