Preseason All State Teams Announced

Indiana’s top end talent in each class is very strong. In fact it could be the strongest we’ve seen in quite some time. At least seven players are expected to be drafted in June’s MLB First-Year Player Draft. Our current Draft Watch List includes 25 players that with small jumps this season could be in the draft conversation in the coming months, making this year’s Preseason All State teams very difficult to make.
All State teams are different in the simple fact that stats absolutely matter. While talent still plays a role, helping your team win and producing in games are key factors. The PBR Indiana staff worked hard in preparing the 2013 Pre Season All State lists by watching loads of player video, reviewing last year’s spring and summer stats, and polling numerous coaches and scouts throughout the area.
Headlining the 1st Team in a unanimous decision was New Castle’s Trey Ball. Ball is the most feared two-way player in the state. New Castle will rely heavily on Ball to carry them deep into the state tournament.
Sophomore Dillin Diehm, a 1B from Garrett HS, is the lone underclassman to make the list. Diehm is arguably the best left handed hitter in the state of Indiana.
