Coach Shannon Barger returns to lead the Madison Cubs for the 2013 season. The Cubs finished .500 last year with a 14-14 overall record and finished in the middle of the pack in the Hoosier Hills Conference. The Cubs return six starters and three pitchers. 

Returning for Madison is Western Kentucky signee Ryan Thurston. Thurston is a 6-foot-1, 155 pound senior LHP who will anchor the pitching staff. The leading returning hitter is junior first baseman Clark Vaughn. Vaughn led the team last season with a .354 average. 

Also returning for the Cubs is senior catcher Logan Kloepher. Kloepher will be a key contributor in the lineup as well as behind the plate. A couple of sophomores; P/3B/OF Derek Anderson, and SS/P Ethan Leach will be impact players for Madison in 2013.
