Q&A with Wright State Commit Jordan Jackson

PBR: Why did you choose the Wright State?

Jackson:  I chose Wright State because I felt like it was a perfect fit. A teammate of mine from the Bulls is also attending WSU.

PBR: Where did Wright State first see you compete?

Jackson:  Coach Cooper first saw me play at North Central High School. The first game I had played as a Bull during the 2012 summer.

PBR: What other schools did you consider?

Jackson:  I was also considering Ohio and Dayton.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play during your first year on campus?

Jackson:  As a freshman, the coaches at WSU are wanting me to come in and compete for a starting position. WSU graduated 9 seniors last year, so there is no doubt in my mind that I can come in and see some action early in my 4 year period there.

PBR: You play for the Indiana Bulls during the summer, how did playing for them help you as a baseball player?

Jackson:  Playing for the Indiana Bulls helped me tremendously as a player. I developed not only skills on the field, but also as a person. Working with players of the same skill set and some even better gave me a strive to better myself. The coaches were great and the players were as well.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Jackson:  Coach John Froedge at Crawfordsville High School & my mentor Brock Graham have placed the largest impact on me as a baseball player. They both have helped motivate me through so much, I couldn't ask for better role models.

PBR: Heading into your senior year at Crawfordsville what are your goals individually and as a team?

Jackson:  My senior season is here, and at CHS we want to win another state championship. Helping carry my team in 2011 was unbelievable, I most definitely have high expectations and intentions to do the same this coming Spring.

PBR: What aspect of your game do you believe needs the most improvement?

Jackson:  I believe my mental game needs to become better. When adversity is upon myself, I cannot quit and give up. I have to work through the time period, and just get better. There is always room for improvement in whatever it is that you do.

PBR: Have you decided on a major, or narrowed it down?

Jackson:  I plan to major in Physical Education at Wright State.
