Scouting Report

3/27/17 Game Notes: Athletic build, 6-foot-3, 190 pound sophomore right-hander threw five complete innings of no-hit baseball.  He threw a total of 67 pitches (42 strikes), striking out six while walking two.  Throughout the first two innings his fastball sat 86-87, touching 88 mph twice. The fastball consistently showed lots of run.  In the third inning he was more 84-85, and sat 82-84 in the final two innings of work, still bumping at couple of 86's here and there.  Sharp threw a firm 74-78/T-79 slider for a strike, a potential plus pitch in the future.  He works at a quick pace, repeating the delivery.  His arm is quick and loose, pitching from a 3/4 slot.

2/25/17:
Sharp has an athletic build at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds. He has a quick, loose arm through a 3/4 slot that produces a fastball at 86-87 and touches 89. His delivery is repeatable with easy effort, smooth rhythm, level shoulders and good direction. The slider has the makings of being a good pitch at 73-75. It has more sweeping action right now with 10/4 shape. His changeup shows occasional sink and is thrown for strikes at 78-80.Offensively, hits from an athletic/open setup, long stride, average lower half, maintains balance throughout the swing.  Showcased quick bat speed, regularly gets to extension producing gap type power. Fluid rhythm, good approach at the plate.  Registered a high exit velocity of 89 mph.  Defensively, soft hands with fluid feet, quick exchange, plays through the baseball with athleticism.  Loose, ¾ arm action with carry and accuracy. Throws topped out at 84 across the diamond.  Ran a 7.64 in the laser-timed 60 yard dash.

9/18/16: The 6 foot 2 180 pound right handed pitcher showcased a clean delivery and athletic frame.  Arm action is clean, quick with potential to add velo soon.  Fastball sat 81-83 but command was erratic.  Struggled commanding his arm side.  Delivery does have a tendency to fall to the 1B side and causes some arm drag.  Slider has tight, late break at 74-76.  Sharp has the potential be a high level recruit in the 2019 class.
