The Outlook: Previously unknown and now ranked No. 33 in Indiana's 2017 class. Payne is an athlete with a live arm, up to 89 on the mound.   

Scouting Report: 10.13.16- The 6-foot-1, 215 pounder possesses an 86-88/89 fastball with serviceable offspeed. Short, quick arm action. Though still raw, he shows pop in the bat (89 Exit Velo) and a strong arm from the OF (87) with speed and athleticism. Behind the dish registered pop times between 1.94-2.01, 79 from the crouch.
