Scouting Report

6/06/19: 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, ultra athletic with twitch. Simple approach at the plate with bat speed. Doubled to leadoff the game for the Canes, athletic runner on the bases and in the field. Looks the like the arm continues to get better as he threw out a runner at 3B from CF on a line with carry. One of the top uncommitted 2020 prospects in the area.

 

2/16/2019: Gabe Wright, OF/2B, Brebeuf Jesuit HS, 2020, 5 foot 9, 165 pounds, ran a 6.73 and had an exit velo of 88 mph and threw 83 mph from the outfield at the event. I really like the bat speed/foot speed combo in this guy. Swing is simple with good separation, and is consistently on the barrel. Shows average footwork to throw from the outfield but arm strength should improve with strength.

1/21/19: 5-foot-9, 160 pound athletic frame. Showcased clean defensive actions with above average hands, fluid footwork and a clean exchange.  Plays through the baseball with athleticism. Long, high ¾ arm action with average carry, 81mph. Offensively, hits from an open, athletic stance. Loads back, short stride. Displays quick bat, gets to extension. Consistent hard contact during his BP round, high exit velocity of 87 mph. High upside. 6.68 runner in the 60.
