EMERSON, GA—The 2020 National Program Invitational kicked off Thursday at LakePoint Sports Community with 82 teams competing across four age levels. There will be much more in depth coverage after the event, but here are some highlights from the first day...

+ 2021 RHP Will Koger (Bardstown HS, KY), a Louisville recruit who was a big standout at the NPI in 2019, turned in another strong outing, holding the Louisiana Knights 17U Black to just two hits in a shutout. The first hit was on the first pitch of the game and he didn’t allow another until the seventh. Koger pitched mostly in the high 80s, holding that for seven innings and bumping 90-91 at the end. His breaking ball was inconsistent, but he threw plenty that were above average and he also showed feel for a solid changeup with some arm-side sink. In the seven innings, he walked three and struck out four.
