With the conclusion of the Prep Baseball 15u National Championship at Lakepoint Sports. We have seen quick hit style notes from each day with video of the prospect. Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, and Day 5. Now lets take a deeper look at some prospects that our scouts saw with full breakdowns of the players they saw.

Haydenn Downes, OF/RHP, Carrollton HS (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. Impressive first glance Thursday morning at the plate. Had multiple barrels to all parts of the field. Showed easy power in his lower-half and maintains strength through-out his swing. Has a longer load but exudes power and is always on time for the heat and shows discipline with a ferocious cut on the hanging breaking balls. Has good pitch recognition, and makes good adjustments ahead, and down in the count. His IQ at the plate shows separation amongst others in his class.

Cole Cheatham, RHP, Union County (IN), 2027
Uncommitted. Cheatham was very impressive in his outing for Canes Midwest on Thursday, touching 91 early before settling in the upper 80’s later in his outing. Lived in the zone and attacked hitters early with 4 pitches, mainly relying on his fastball and slider. In doing so, Cheatham was able to work very efficiently through his outing as he cruised to a complete game, 14 strikeout appearance. Was definitely one of the more exciting and dominant outings from any pitcher this week, and he should only continue to improve as he builds onto his 6’3” 180 lbs frame. The #2 RHP in Indiana is a high follow.

Brayden Borberg, RHP, Shawnee Mission Northwest HS (KS), 2027
Uncommitted. Dominance on Friday morning of the 15u National Championship games with an excellent three pitch mix on full display. Super aggressive, attacked every batter, filled up the zone consistently. FB ran up to 83 but stayed in the low 80’s throughout the outing, 2 sm had late-life with an over the top arm slot. CV was deceptive and thrown methodically, had hitters off balanced and out-front constantly. Lots of pop-fly outs and ground-ball outs. CH sat in the mid to high 70’s with depth, and drop-off, had good feel and control. Flirted with a no-hitter until the bottom of the sixth, final stat line: 7.0 IP // 4 Hits // 1 ER // 4 K’s // 97 Pitches.

Parker Hicks, 3B, New Albany HS (MS), 2027
Uncommitted. Hicks was one of the more impressive pure hitters from this week. He showed a controlled, consistent, and centered load that produced easy barrels with nearly every swing. His advanced feel for the barrel along with his great discipline and knowledge of the zone make him a threat every time he steps up to the plate. Hicks went 3-3 on Friday with all 3 hits being 90+ exit velocities. Excited to see the hitter Hicks turns into as he adds more power to his already impressive hit tool.

Malcolm Blaqman, SS, Home School (MD), 2027
Uncommitted. Blaqman was an absolute threat in every facet of the game on Friday for 5 Star Mid Atlantic, flashing incredible range and arm strength at shortstop. He also has some very impressive pop at the plate for his 6’1” 160 lbs build, generating a couple easy 90+ EV swings. The most exciting part about Blaqman’s game, however, is he plays with his hair on fire at all times. He is always looking to make a winning play, whether it be throwing out runners at 1st base from deep into the outfield on a routine fly out, or stretching an easy single to CF into a double when he sees the defense sleeping. Blaqman is a highly athletic, middle of the order bat that is always wanting to make plays to help his team win. Easily one of the more exciting watches of the week.

John Hucko, OF, Charlotte Catholic HS (NC), 2027
Uncommitted. Hucko is a pure swinging left handed bat that hits in the middle of the order for SBA Bolts, and he delivered out of that spot for them in a big way on Friday. With his team down 1 run after scoring 4 earlier in the inning, Hucko mashed a 2 out, 2 RBI homerun well over the left field fence. Very strong lower half paired with loose hands that generate a lot of pop for the outfielder.

Bryce Fontenot, 3B/1B/RHP, Cherokee Bluff HS (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. First glances from the mound on Saturday morning were highly impressive as the FB was working early, ran it up to 86 and sat around 81-84 catching whiff after whiff, with a 2 sm that had arm-side run (~1819 rpm), and a heavy 4 sm (~2290 rpm). SL thrown sporadically, slurve shape at 2210 rpm and in the low 70’s. CV thrown during warm-ups, tighter spin at 2388 rpm in the upper 60’s, it will be a quality pitch as the arm/wrist strength develops. Finished the morning: 4.0 IP // 0 Hits // 7K’s // 0 ER // 2 BB // 61 Pitches. Performed at the plate as well, went 2-for-3 with a single and a double, both 90+ exit velocity. Shows advanced feel for the barrel, and displays a strong, present, and physical 6-foot-2, 198-pound frame. Two-sport guy as he plays LB, QB, and TE on Friday nights in the fall. A high follow for the rest of summer and into his sophomore campaign.

Hudson Garten, RHP, Silver Creek HS (IN), 2027
Uncommitted. Hot start to the afternoon as FB and CV were working early. FB ran up to 83 and sat in the low 80’s for the entirety of the outing showing little to no fatigue. 2 sm had glove-side run with bite at 2000 rpm and a heavy 4 sm with tilt at 2200 rpm. Complete command for the CV, 12/6 shape, arc-break, and had a good feel for spin in the mid to upper 60’s with 2600 rpm. Front-door look CV had hitters backing out of the box for called strikes, and generated weak contact. Deceptive, sneaky combinations that had hitters off-balanced. Finished the day: 4.1 IP // 4 Hits // 0 ER // 6 K’s // 78 Pitches. 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame with room to fill out and add more strength as the arm continues to develop.

Griffin Boesen, OF/RHP, IMG Academy HS (IA), 2027
Uncommitted. Good day at the plate that generated a 2-for-3 day with a swing that displayed an all-fields approach with power and advanced feel for the barrel. Hard contact on both hits, a frozen rope off the bat into the gap in right-center and another high fly-ball cranked deep to left-field. Showcases power and strength on low pitches and has the ability to extend on pitches on the outer-half. Aggressive and vicious hack from the left-side. Simple slide-step load that generates forward momentum, maintains balance and doesn’t lunge at bad pitches. Lean, athletic, high-waisted 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame.

Jonah Winton, SS, Model HS(GA), 2027
Uncommitted. Only one hit to show for on the day going 1-3 with an RBI double to the left field wall but made hard contact in all three at bats. Continuously shows off the hit tool by spraying the ball all over the field and generates loud contact no matter the outcome. Has a quiet stance at the plate with quiet hands with a smooth swing. Plays a very smooth shortstop with a very strong arm. Has a good athletic frame at 6’0” 160 pounds will plenty of room to grow.

Griffin Long, RHP, Sonoraville(GA), 2026
Uncommitted. Had a solid start on Saturday using a three pitch mix of a fastball, curveball, and changeup, but mainly used his fastball and curveball and would flash his changeup at times to lefties. Ran his fastball up to 88 but sat at 84-86 with arm side run and his curveball was 72-73 with good bite. Had decent command during his outing and command will only get better as time goes on. Good solid frame at 6’3” 180 with plenty of room to fill out and get stronger which will only help his velocity increase. Final stat line: 3.1 innings/1 hit/3ERs/5 strikeouts.

Christian Myers, 2B, Auburn Junior HS(AL), 2027
Uncommitted. Really good first look Saturday afternoon at the plate. Went 3-3 with 2 RBIs. Really good feel for the barrel as he found barrels in all three at-bats all resulting in hits. Had timely hitting to drive in runs and lead off the game for 643 with a lead-off double. Lean athletic frame with plenty of room to get stronger. Quiet approach at the plate with good hand separation and quick hands through the zone.

Carson Leuthauser, C/3B, Rockwood Summit (MO), 2027
Uncommitted. Great look at Leuthauser on Tuesday during bracket play. He obliterated a fastball that went 370 feet and left the bat at 95 exit velocity. He has a big solid frame at 5’10 185 with plenty of room to add on. Smooth swing with immense power to all parts of the field, likes to attack early in counts and generates a ton of loud contact.

Jackson Hornick, RHP/OF, Central Bucks HS-West (PA), 2027
Uncommitted. Saw a few quality innings from Hornick during bracket play on Tuesday. Fastball got up to 88 with ASR. The breaking ball sat around 66-68 and topped at 69 with a ton of late break. Very projectable strong frame at 6’0 190 with a whippy arm action that pounds the zone. Consistently keeps hitters off balance with his pitch mix.

Griffin Bryant, RHP/3B, Liberty Christian Academy (VA), 2027
Uncommitted. Bryant has very smooth mechanics with a whippy arm action. Fills up the zone and gets a lot of swings and misses. Fastball sat around 80-83 and topped at 84. Breaking ball was sharp and sat around 66-69 with a ton of late bite. Consistently likes to work down and in with a purpose and mixes pitches well with great confidence.

Anthony Baroncelli, RHP/OF, Oliver Ames (MA), 2026
Uncommitted. Phenomenal 2-way athlete. Confidence both on the mound and also at the plate. Saw him on Monday and his fastball sat around 84-86 topping at 87 with a ton of ASR. Was also up to 91 earlier in the week. The breaking ball sat around 71-74 with a ton of late movement that kept hitters off balance consistently. In the same game at the plate, he ripped a very clean pullside double that left the bat at 92 exit velocity. Big solid frame that generates a ton of bat speed and loud contact. Definitely an interesting name to look out for in the class of 2026 especially as he continues to develop.

Noah Spalding, RHP/3B, Marion County (KY), 2026
Louisville Commit. What a week for Spalding who not only dazzled at the plate but also on the mound. Closed out the game in bracket play on Tuesday and fastball was up to 88 with a ton of run. Was also up to 91 earlier in the week. The fastball paired beautifully with the curve ball that sat around 64-67 with a lot of late break that kept hitters uneasy in the box. Huge frame at 6’3 230 with a lot of untapped power there. At the plate he consistently had loud contact spraying the ball over the yard. Plays with a lot of passion and confidence. Should be a name to keep on your radar for years to come.

Brendan Freeman, RHP, Emerson HS (TX), 2027
Uncommitted. Freeman came in relief late for Wow Factor in their quarterfinals matchup and delivered. Worked his way out of an inherited 1 out, 2 runners on jam in the bottom of the last inning of a tie game. He worked through 2 more extra innings of work before being relieved. Easily sat in the mid 80’s and touched 88 with high spin. Also, he threw a powerful breaking ball at 75-77 mph and got a lot of big whiffs on this pitch. There looks to be a lot of velocity left in the tank for Freeman, excited to see how he grows as a pitcher and in strength.

Brady Truett, SS/RHP, Chambersburg (PA), 2027
Uncommitted. Truett looked stellar in his start this week. Lean frame at 5’11” 155lbs, with plenty of room still to fill out. He utilizes a short arm swing in his delivery, which adds deception as he releases from a lower ¾ slot. Throughout the outing, he worked the fastball in the 78-80 range, topping out at 81 with tons of sink and run. He filled the zone up and challenged hitters, leading to lots of weak contact and quick innings. Off of the fastball, he mixed in a slider that sat in the 70-72 range with gradual sweep. It paired great with the sinking fastball, and the 2 pitch mix kept hitters off balance throughout his outing. Good follow.

Jack Johnson, OF/RHP, Harrison (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. Johnson stands at a super physical 6’1” 197lbs, with present strength. Johnson was impressive at the plate throughout the tournament, showing above average bat speed and the ability to really impact the baseball to the pull-side. He uses a fairly compact swing, with a slight barrel tip at the top of the load, which allows him to really leverage the baseball out front with some authority. He posted a few exit velocities over 95, showing advanced raw power for the class. Has been impressive on the mound as well this summer. High follow 2-way guy with real power projection.

Taber Edwards, 3B/RHP, Midland (MI), 2027
Uncommitted. Edwards has a lean, athletic frame, standing at 5’11” 175lbs. Really impressed during his outing for FTB Phillies Ga. Athletic, uptempo delivery with a shorter arm swing and a high ¾ arm slot. He worked the fastball mostly 81-83, topping out at 84.4. The pitch had some bore to it, that he used to get in on hitters and also create some tilt down to the bottom of the zone. Off of the fastball, he worked in a tight, harder slider at 76-78. He showed pretty advanced feel for the arsenal and solid command to boot. Athletic mover that still has a ton of projection left as he continues to grow into his body. Good follow.

Kyle McBride, RHP/SS, Delbarton School (NJ), 2027
Uncommitted. McBride stands at a lanky 6’1” 165lbs with lots of room to fill out. On the mound, he utilizes a medium arm swing that he timed up fairly consistently from a ¾ arm slot. Really sinks into the back leg down the mound, which in turn drops the arm slot a touch and creates a tough angle for opposing batters. He attacked hitters with a 2 punch arsenal of a fastball and changeup. The fastball worked 82-84, topping out at 85 with plenty of armside run that jumped out of the hand and caused some uncomfortable at-bats for opposing hitters. Off of the fastball, he worked the changeup in at 78-79, with similar movement to the fastball but a bit more depth. It was a quality 2 pitch attack, and as he develops feel to spin, it should be a fairly complete arsenal. Athletic mover on the mound with tons of projection left.

Andres Jimenez, MIF/RHP, Parkview (GA), 2027
Uncommitted. Jimenez has a wiry athletic frame at 6’1” 185lbs. Worked a shorter arm swing on the mound that he timed up well into a high ¾ arm slot. He really impressed in his start for the ECB Astros, as he showed the ability to fill up the zone and attack opposing hitters. He worked the fastball mostly 82-84 in the start, topping out at 85 with a bit of run to the arm-side and good tilt to the bottom of the zone. Off of the fastball, he mixed in a gradual sweeping slider at 70-74. He showed good feel to manipulate the pitch, and averaged around 2400rpm. It’s a solid arsenal at present with athletic movements down the mound that projects to keep throwing harder.

Michael Mendoza, C/RHP, Northview High (CA), 2027
Uncommitted, Had a great weekend at the plate with a couple of pretty good hits. Has good presents at the plate with quick hand speed which creates a lot of bat speed.Got good contact to go up in the zone and shoot the ball to left field for an RBI single. Showed good power with hitting a no-doubt bomb to left field 92 EV 356 ft.

Brennan Shaffer, C/1B, Kenton Ridge High School (OH), 2027
Uncommitted, Big frame and presents at the plate 6’2” 200lbs with a lot of power. Had a good day going 2-2 with smoking a line drive too left field for a single 91 EV. Had another great hit to the right field wall for a two RBI triple. Has a smooth swing to get good contact on the ball with quick hand speed.

Hayden Lister, OF/RHP, James Brynes Freshman Academy (SC), 2027
Uncommitted, Athletic frame 5’9’’ 165 Lbs. Had a great day at the plate going 3-3 showing off good presents and power. Got good contact on all three hits to send them through the gap to get extra base hits. Has a strong lower half to help with the quick bat speed to power the ball through the gap. Showed off his legs around the bases to get multiple extra base hits at the plate.

Gatlyn Grace, SS/2B, Parkview Baptist (LA), 2027
Uncommitted, lean frame 5’10’’ 150 lbs. Had a huge hit with the bases loaded with a three RBI double 88 EV. Got good contact on the ball to send it to right center field. Has good power with a smooth swing and strong lower half to show off the power. Quick out the box with good speed around the bases.

Preston Sumner, SS/RHP, Batters Box Scout (TN), 2027
Uncommitted, Athletic frame 6’0’’ 162 lbs. Smoked one to right field for a triple 90 EV. Has good hand speed to help with the quick bat speed. Got good contact on the ball to get a nice pop off the bat. Has a smooth swing with good power off the bat . Strong lower half with good speed around the bases.

Ka’aLekahi Kuhaulua, LHP/OF, Hawaii, 2027
Hawaii Commit, showed a really high ceiling as a two-way prospect this week at the 15u National Championship. At the plate showed a really disciplined approach with a flat bat plane and sweet left handed swing. On the mound is where he really shined in our opinion. Opened up against a Canes Midwest team that made it to the championship and competed, worked out of some jams and showed immense feel for all 3 pitches. Worked a rising FB 81-83 topping out at 85, a pure gyro SL at 73-75 and a true spin killed CH at 70-72.

Dominic Naylor, SS/RHP, Cedar Park HS (TX) 2027
Uncommitted 6 foot 1 200 pound SS/RHP from Texas swung a super loud and impressive bat this week at the 15u National Championship. As well as swinging it well Naylor also showed electric stuff on the mound working his FB into the 88-90 range with good spin behind it. The sky's the limit for Naylor, producing electric numbers at the plate and on the mound. Excited to see which route Naylor continues to work, or if he chooses to stay a two-way. Either way it will fun to watch both

Tristan Lange , 3B/RHP, North Cross School (VA) 2026
Another two way prospect who impressed on both sides of the field was Uncommitted 2026 Tristan Lange from Dirtbags National. Lange put up multiple 90+ EV abs and had loud swings all weekend showing adv’ ability to work the ball pull side and opposite field. On the mound Lange showed lively stuff as well working FB in the 87-89 range topping out at 90. Lange mixed in a hammer CB at 66-70 that mixed in well with the FB. Lange will be an exciting two prospects to watch in the upcoming fall and summer.

Ben Carter, RHP, West Forsyth (NC), 2027
We got to watch Carter in both of his appearances this week at the 15u National Championship and one thing I can say is he is consistent. In both outings he filled up the zone with all pitches and controlled the game well. Showed one of the best CBs this week producing some ugly swings, this pitch tunneled well with his FB that lived in the 79-82 range topping out at 83. There is plenty of untapped velo in the frame though, and he already has immense feel for his mechanics and how to use his body.

Amaree Griffin (GA) 2027, LHP
Griffin exhibited exactly why he’s one of the best uncommitted arms in the state. The left- handed hurler threw 5 hitless innings on Tuesday , striking out 6 and running the fastball up to 89. More impressively, griffin held his upper 80s velocity throughout the entire start. While the arm talent stands out, the extremely repeatable mechanics held his velocity up. Often threw a low 70s changeup to keep hitters off balance. 6’4 185 frame with a lot of room to fill out as he grows into his body.

Jace Riggan 2027, INF/RHP, FL
Rigan impressed on the mound last week during the 15u National Championship, showing big time arm speed coupled with a good breaking ball. The right handed used the breaking ball early and late in counts for strikes, and his blazing fastball was the prominent factor; dialed it up to 89 early and setting in at 85-87 through 3 innings. Smooth mechanics with a medium height leg kick and stays closed for a long time moving down the mound. Large frame with clear present strength and more to come: 6’2 185 lbs.

George Scarborough (TX), 2027 RHP
Scarborough was dominant in 5 innings Tuesday, allowing his defense to work while also striking out 8. The plus movement on his fastball allowed him to be super fastball heavy, particularly the first time through the order. The two seam life allowed for a ton of grounders to be hit while also inducing a lot of swing and miss up in the zone. His sweeping slider type breaking ball makes him a real East/West candidate. Can be a real nightmare for right handed hitters as he continues to develop his 6’3 170 pound body.

Dylan Honroe, 2027, INF. Hillgrove HS
Honroe delivered the big hit for the 15u 643 Cougars on Monday, a two out RBI single that put his team ahead in extras. The righty has a good compact swing with fast hands, allowing him to stay inside the ball well. The most obvious talent Honroe showed was his defense. The shortstop played well all weekend showing off his range and excellent feel for hard grounders.

Jackson Waeghe, INF, Cuthbertson, 2027(NC)
One of the more dominant performances we’ve seen all summer. Waeghe held an extremely talented 6-4-3 cougars team to no runs as he pitched all the way through the 8th inning only allowing two bunt singles. Did an excellent job getting ahead of hitters and dropping both his plus changeup and 11/5 breaking ball to both sides of the plate. The fastball worked upper 70/ low 80s all day, reaching 83 all the way in the 6th inning. The Changeup was his best offering, comfortable throwing it to both right and left handed hitters which allowed him to absolutely dice monday morning.

Brock Burrus, OF, Kell HS, 2027
Uncommitted. Burrus was on fire on Sunday of the 15u National Championship. Batting in the three-hole for an East Cobb Texas Orange squad, Burrus was a key-contributor all game long. In his first at-bat hitting a pull-side single. Following the single up with a pull-side triple to the wall in his second at-bat. Consistently working quality at-bats Burrus is seemingly always a tough out. Displaying a smooth left-handed swing with an advanced feel for the barrel. The lefty creates pull-side leverage at ease using the athletic 6-foot-2, 160-pound frame. The incoming sophomore will be a name to watch at Kell in the spring.

Bryan Smith, C/RHP, South Forsyth HS, 2027
Uncommitted. Smith was all over the barrel on Sunday of the 15u National Championship. In his first at-bat he sat back on a mid 70’s curve-ball and barreled it up at an exit velocity of 97. Sending it deep into the right-center field gap for a stand-up double. Not long after followed up this double with another ringing double, by turning on a fastball and sending it deep into the left-center field gap at an exit velocity of 98. Showing an all fields approach on the day with enormous impact in the barrel. The raw-power stands from the physical 5-foot-11, 195-pound incoming sophomore. The power-hitting righty will be a name to watch at South Forsyth in the Spring.

AJ Kramer, LHP/OF, Prattville HS (AL), 2029
Uncommitted. Kramer showed some eye-opening stuff out of the pen in relief for TG Dbacks 14u. Coming out firing the lefty sat 83-84 on the fastball. Pairing this with a hammer 12-6 curve-ball at 66 MPH. This FB/CB combination racked up whiffs with ease in the short relief appearance. With a lean athletic frame at 5-foot-9, 140-pounds the lefty will only continue to grow and fill out. The fluid mechanics stand out from Kramer as it was absurd what the incoming eighth-grader had to offer playing up two age groups. The lefty will be a must know name to follow.

Jeremiah Jones, SS/OF, Bentonville West HS (AR), 2027
Uncommitted. Jones was a force on the first day of the 15u National Championship. Displaying a knack for reaching base and consistently working quality at-bats. Collecting two backside singles in his first two AB’s. Showcasing a tremendous feel for the barrel with premium bat-speed to match. The uber-athletic SS/OF was not done there though, catching a barrel in his last at-bat sending one deep into center-field burning the center-fielder, as Jones showed the wheels coming all the way-around to score for an inside-the-park-HR. The hit-tool shined for the uncommitted bat on Thursday night. Jones is a must know name.

Blake Chupp, 1B/RHP, Strong Rock Christian School (HS), 2027
Uncommitted. In his first at-bat on Sunday, Chupp unloaded on one and deposited it over the left-field wall for a home-run. The strength was on full-display from the athletic 6-foot-1, 180-pound 1B. The 2023 Junior Future Game Alum displays an advanced feel for the barrel with raw-power to match. There’s an easy rhythm to the swing with excellent balance throughout and effortless bat-speed that allows the RHH to obliterate baseballs with ease. Chupp is a high-follow two-way name to know.
