Thursday March 31 Recap



Mishawaka 7 Concord 2

Trey Bickel, 2012, Threw the CG allowing just two hits while striking out 13 to pick up the win. Mishawaka got good offensive production lead by Joey Schuster who had 3 RBIs and 2 triples, Casey Demonia was 3-4, and Matt Hesch was 2-4.

 

Westfield 17 Muncie Central 5

Westfield put up 14 runs in the second inning on their way to victory. Wade Burtron was able to drive in 5 runs going 2-4 including a double. Andrew McCafferty went 2-3 with a 2B, HR, and 3 RBIs. Gehr and McBride both went 2-2 for Westfield. For Muncie Central 1B Ruble was able to get two hits and drive in two runs.

 

Westview 8 Jimtown 2

Zac Mishler (2-3, HR, 3 RBIs) and Judah Zickafoose (2-3, 2B, 2 RBIs) lead the offensive attack for Westview. Damon Miller picked up the win throwing five innings giving up six hits and two earned runs while striking out three.

 

Churubusco 3 Woodlan 0

Braxton Siddons threw a one hitter striking out 17 to pick up the win for Churubusco.

 

Elkhart Central 4 Goshen 3

Riley Futterkneckt picked up the win while allowing no earned runs, two unearned, to pick up the win for Elkhart Central.

 

Vincennes Lincoln 13 Castle 11

Vincennes Lincoln came back from 11-1 in the 5th to pull out the victory.

 

New Castle 7 Delta 6

 Leading the way for New Castle's offense was senior OF/LHP Garrett York (2-3, 3 RBI), junior SS Conner King (2-4, 2 runs),  junior 2B Jake Kendall (1-3, RBI, R), junior OF Jordan Day (1-1, 3 BB) and sophomore OF/LHP Trey Ball (1-1, RBI, R).  The Trojans saw positive outings on the mound LHP York (3 Inn, 2 H, 3 K's), senior RHP Ethan Hillman (1 Inn, 0 H, 1 K), LHP Ball (1 Inn, 1 H, 1 ER, 3 K's), sophomore RHP Michael Bear (W, 1 1/3, 1 H, 2 K's).

Silver Creek 16 Henryville 7

Silver Creek comes back with a win after suffering the tough loss Monday to New Albany with a 16-7 win over Henryville. Silver Creek was led by Senior Lee University Signee Kyle Briner who went 4-4 with 4 doubles. Also helping at the plate was Sophomores Layne Taylor 2-4 and Jamie Valvano 2-5. Junior Jacob Armstrong gets the win with 2 innings pitched and 0 runs allowed. Silver Creek moves to 1-1 on the season and Henryville starts off 0-1.
