Indiana's 2025 class currently boasts 27 division one commits to date, with lots of uncommitted talent still left on the board. Now that we have finished the fall season, we are beginning to go in-depth on the top uncommitted talent in the class, breaking them down by position. Today - we look at the top ten uncommitted southpaws in Indiana's 2025 class. 

Lucas Collins LHP / Bishop Dwenger, IN / 2025 A confident southpaw with an athletic, 6-foot, 180 pound frame - Collins stands as the top uncommitted lefty in Indiana's 2025 class. An athletic mover, Collins creates quality hip-to-shoulder separation within the delivery and follows with a quick arm that comes from a high 3/4 slot. His best pitch is his fastball, an 84-87 mph offering that gets swing-and-miss in the zone due to ride & run properties. Collins pairs the fastball with a mid-70s straight change - a pitch with significant upside. The left-hander from Fort Wayne spins a short, mid-70s slider to round out his three-pitch mix. The combination of arm talent & athleticism is evident and should help Collins garner interest from division one programs.

Nolan Hataway LHP / Avon Community High School, IN / 2025 A projectable southpaw with present arm strength & room for growth - Hataway boasts a fastball up to 85 mph with a frame that could help that number tick up in a hurry. The 6-foot-4, 190 pounder has unique fastball properties, averaging nearly 18" of IVB with real arm-side run at times (-20.6" HZB max), giving the fastball an opportunity to blossom into a swing-and-miss offering. Hataway pairs his fastball with a 1/7 shaped curveball that sits in the low-70s and will show an upper-70s change. The high-waisted southpaw attacks from an over-the-top arm slot with clean, compact arm action.

Jack Warner LHP / Danville Community, IN / 2025 A 6-foot-4, 200 pound southpaw that provides all-kinds of funk in the delivery. Warner attacks from a sidearm slot that provides a unique look - and his low-to-mid 80s (T86) fastball runs significantly to the arm-side due to the slot. Warner's best pitch is his slider, a true sweeper that works side-to-side and averages over 21" of horizontal break, spinning at 2600+ RPM. Warner's fastball/slider combination both have present swing-and-miss traits and are especially tough on left-handed hitters. Warner projects as a nightmare left-on-left bullpen matchup, with the upside to develop into a backend arm.

Brady Shaw LHP / Zionsville Community, IN / 2025 Another upside southpaw in the '25 class, Shaw stands at 6-foot-5, 185 pounds and offers a fluid delivery with a loose & uninterrupted arm that follows. The high-waisted, projectable left-hander works in the low-80s on his fastball currently, a number that I expect to rise in a hurry. Shaw compliments the fastball with a low-70s breaking ball with 2/8 shape, a potential out-pitch with continued development. While the velocity doesn't jump off the page currently, it is easy to project tons of development from Shaw when considering his 6-foot-5 frame and fluid movement patterns.

Cole Strick LHP / East Noble, IN / 2025 A standout at our 2023 Fall State Games - Strick offers a low-to-mid 80s (T84) fastball to go along with a physical frame. The 6-foot-2, 200 pounder pitches from a high, over-the-top slot, averaging a 6.5 foot release height. The fastball works to both sides of the plate and is paired with a slurvey, mid-70s breaking ball and a faded change in the mid-to-upper 70s. There is moderate effort within the delivery, projecting the velocity to tick into the mid-80s on a consistent basis, and his ability to throw three pitches for strikes makes him a solid '25 follow.

Luke Albrecht LHP / Brownsburg High School , IN / 2025 Far from a finished product, it is easy to dream on this 6-foot-3, 170 pound southpaw out of Brownsburg. Albrecht boasts one of the best arm action's on this list - a full arm swing that releases from a 3/4 slot. There is natural whip in the arm that suggest his low-80s (T82 mph) fastball will tick sooner rather than later. There is significant upside in his 67-71 mph slider that flashes sweeping action. While Albrecht lacks the ability to repeat on a consistent basis at this point, he owns one of the highest celings of any southpaw on this list.

Max Engle LHP / Westview, IN / 2025 Engle was selected to our 2A All-State team following the spring of 2023 after he posted a 9-3 record with 111 strikeouts and just a 1.17 ERA in his sophomore campaign. The 6-foot-1, 190 pounder pitches in the low-80s (T85) with a fastball that he shows plenty of feel for. The fastball shows some carry from his 3/4 arm slot and he tunnels a slurvey, low-70s breaking ball off the fastball. Engle rounds out his three-pitch mix with a mid-70s straight change. The calling card for Engle is his ability to fill up the strike zone on a consistent basis and he has a chance to jump up this list if his overall stuff can continue to tick up.

Braden Branigin LHP / Andrean High School, IN / 2025 The best strike-thrower of any name on this list - Branigin consistently fills the zone with a three-pitch mix. The 6-foot, 180 pound southpaw is routinely able to get his low 80s (T83) fastball to the glove-side and he keeps the opposition off balance with his ability to throw any pitch in any count. Branigin flips over a 68-70 mph breaking ball at will and also offers a fading, low-70s change that gets swing-and-miss from right-handed hitters. An uptick in overall stuff will go a long way for the Andrean product, but his ability to pitch lands him on this list.

Carter Beck LHP / Avon High School, IN / 2025 The 6-foot, 180 pound southpaw uses a balanced, low-effort delivery and repeats it consistently. His arm action is loose & uninterrupted - producing a riding fastball that sits at 80-84 mph with 20-22” of induced vertical break. His ability to ride the fastball plays the velocity up and he is able to get tons of swing-and-misses in the zone with the fastball. Beck shows a short, late-breaking slider at 74-75 mph that tunnels off the fastball and also flashes a low-70s straight change.

Isaac Flamino LHP / Kokomo High School, IN / 2025 An undersized southpaw with strike-throwing capabilities to go along with a fastball that has reached 86 mph. Flamino pitches more in the low-80s range, but has shown the ability to reach back and get into the mid-80s. The 5-foot-10, 175 pounder has quick, compact arm action from a 3/4 slot and uses a low-to-mid 70s slider with sweep as an out-pitch.
