Player Spotlight: OF Jamie Mitchell (Blue Valley, 2017)

Jamie Mitchell (Blue Valley, 2017) attended the Class of 2017 Games at Saint Louis University on June 7. 

The 6-foot-1 185-pound left-handed hitting outfielder ran a 6.63 60 and had one of the top left-handed exit velos of the event at 89 mph.  Mitchell was also showed impressive arm strength with an 87 mph positional velo from the outfield.  He has a smooth stroke at the plate, with a gap-to-gap approach.

Currently, Mitchell is playing with Mac N Seitz Elite this summer.  He was with fourth outfielder on a loaded Blue Valley team this spring, which was ranked #1 most of the season.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Mitchell: No

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Mitchell: I would like to go to a decent academic school, preferably a large school.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Mitchell: I was the 4th Outfielder in the number 1 school in Kansas

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Mitchell: I would like to make 1st Team All-State

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Mitchell: I play for the Mac N Seitz 17u Elite, Hobbs

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Mitchell: No.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Mitchell: I have a 3.5 GPA and a 24 ACT score
