Positional Prospects

Carson Deer C / 3B / Loveland, OH / 2020
Body Type: Looks the part. 6-foot-2, 190-pound physical/athletic frame. Swing Mechanics: Balanced setup, toe turn timing trigger with a vertical barrel launch. Hit: Had a tendency to pull off the ball a bit in BP but the tools are obvious. Aggressive swinger with a level path. Hit tool was advanced when he stayed through. Obvious physicality and bat speed. Power: Landed on a few balls in BP. Run producer look to him with the ability to leave the yard presently. Offensive Projection: Run Producer. Field: Obvious feel for the catcher position. Stood out in all facets of his game behind the dish. Receives well and showed above average catch/throw abilities. Talented defender. Throw: Defensive Projection: C. Additional Comments: Scholarship level player. Left-handed hitting catcher with a loud bat and defensive abilities that will carry to the next level.
