Kentucky Player of The Week: Russell County 2022 RHP/1B Nathan Lawson
May 5, 2022
Another week of 40+ nominations for our Player of The Week award as we head into the final few weeks of the regular season before District tournament play. As we combed through the stats, a few players stood out, but ultimately, one player was selected not only for his work at the plate, but also dominant numbers on the mound.
Russell County 2022 RHP/1B Nathan Lawson, an Eastern Kentucky recruit, got it done for the Lakers last week with both his bat and his arm in leading them to a 5-0 record for the week. Lawson went 8-for-14 at the plate with 6 doubles, 2 home runs, and 7 RBI while also throwing a 5-inning no-hit shutout with 14 of the 15 outs coming via strikeout.
For his outstanding performance on the field, Nathan Lawson has been selected as the PBR Kentucky Player of The Week for April 25-May 1.
