2023 PBR Louisiana All-State Team

The 2023 high school baseball season ended nearly a month ago in Louisiana.  Our staff has been combing through the individual statistics of prospects, across all classes, to be able to put together our All-State Team.  The team consists of 21 players, from different regions and classes, across Louisiana.  Below, we present to you our 2023 PBR Louisiana All-State Team.  Congratulations to all of the players on a fantastic season!

P2024 Landon Victorian (Barbe HS)

The LSU commit entered the season as Barbe's #1 starter on the mound and he delivered all year long for the Bucs.  Victorian finished the year with a perfect 8-0 record, to go along with a 0.83 ERA and 80 K's to only 4 BB's across 50 1/3 IP.

P2025 Drew Ferguson (West Monroe HS)

The former Future Gamer was once again West Monroe's go-to guy on the mound this spring, leading the Rebels back to the state title game.  Ferguson finished his sophomore year with a 10-1 record, 1.32 ERA, and 63 K's across 74 1/3 IP.

P2023 Andrew Prejean (Holy Savior Menard HS)

Prejean led the way for Holy Savior Menard this past spring, as the Eagles enjoyed one of their best seasons in school history, on route to finishing as a state runner-up.  The Meridian Community College signee finished his senior campaign with an 11-2 record and 0.75 ERA with 101 K's across 75 IP, that included nine shutouts and two no-hitters.

P2024 Giancarlo Arencibia (Rummel HS)

Arencibia is another former Future Gamer who had a jam up junior season, leading the way for the Raiders on the mound, on route to a state runner-up finish at the state tournament.  The Tulane University commit compiled a 7-1 record this spring with a 1.99 ERA, and 83 K's in 59 2/3 IP.  He saved his best performance for the state semifinals, where he earned the win for Rummel on the mound, as the Raiders upset top seeded Catholic (BR).  

P2025 RHP Karson Trichel (Ouachita Christian HS)

The LSU commit was stellar all year long for Ouachita Christian, but raised his game to another level, during the Eagles run to another state title this past spring.  Trichel finished the year with a 8-1 record and 1.65 ERA in 60 IP.  During the post-season, he tossed an incredible 20 shutout innings with 24 K's.

C2023 Clayton Pourciau (Catholic BR HS)

Pourciau was definitely the leader of a talented Catholic (BR) HS team this past spring, as the Bears finished the season with a 36-3 overall record.  The University of Louisiana signee hit at a .388 clip this past spring with a .476 OBP and 28 RBI, all while playing stellar defense behind the plate for the Bears.

C- 2024 Zach White (Ouachita Christian HS)

The former Future Gamer had a stellar junior campaign for Ouachita Christian, helping lead the Eagles on offense to another state title.  The University of Louisiana Monroe commit finished the year hitting .359 with 7 HR and 15 2B, while driving in 33 runs. 

IF2024 Michael Ryan (Rummel HS)

Ryan was one of the offensive leaders for Rummel this past spring, on route to helping the Raiders finishing as a state runner up.  The LSU commit hit at a .420 clip with 7 HR, 10 2B, and 3 3B, while scoring 49 runs and driving another 31.  

IF2024 Hayden Federico (West Monroe HS)

The silky smooth infielder was stellar again in his junior season for West Monroe, helping the Rebels yet again reach the Non-Select DI state title game.  The Ole Miss commit finished the year with a .420 AVG, while hitting 3 HR, 8 2B, and 3 3B.  Federico also scored 38 R and tallied 40 RBI.

IF2023 Sam Ardoin (Sam Houston HS)

The former Future Gamer led the way on offense for Sam Houston this spring, as the Broncos made another state tournament appearance.  The University of Texas commit hit at a .387 clip with 6 HR, 10 2B, and 2 3B, to go along with 39 R and 31 RBI.  Ardoin also went 2-0 on the mound with a 1.54 ERA.

IF2023 Alex Dupuy (Natchitoches Central HS)

The LSU-Eunice recruit was an offensive sparkplug for Natchitoches Central, leading the Chiefs to one of their best seasons in school history.  Dupuy finished the year with a .462 AVG, while hitting 4 HR and 13 2B with 30 RBI and 19 SB, all while playing rock solid defense at shortstop.

OF2023 Donovan Lasalle (Barbe HS)

Recently named our Louisiana Player of the Year for the 2023 season, Lasalle led the way on offense for the Bucs, on route to their 12th state title in program history.  The Oklahoma State recruit finished the year hitting at a ridiculous .510 clip with 10 HR, 14 2B, and 3 3B, while also scoring a whopping 57 R and driving in another 43.  

OF2024 John Pearson (West Monroe HS)

The former Future Gamer was a run-producing machine for West Monroe yet again this year, as the Rebels made it all the way back to the state tournament.  The LSU commit finished the spring with a .424 AVG, while hitting 7 HR, 15 2B, and 7 3B.  Pearson also scored 56 R and had 35 RBI.

OF2023 Lane Lusk (Live Oak HS)

A member of our Southeast Senior Games team last summer; the Live Oak HS product had a phenomenal senior campaign for the Eagles, helping lead Live Oak back to the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.  The Northwestern State recruit hit at a .449 clip with 2 HR, 9 2B, and 6 3B, while scoring 50 R and driving in another 27.

OF2023 Griffin Cooley (Kinder HS)

Cooley is another former Future Gamer who had a spectacular senior year, helping the Yellow Jackets get back to the state semifinals.  The LSU recruit finished the year with a .463 AVG, while hitting 4 HR, 9 2B, and 9 3B, to go along with 48 R and 44 RBI.

UTIL2023 Jake Brown (Sulphur HS)

The state's top ranked player led Sulphur back to the state tournament this past spring, thanks to his efforts both on the mound and at the plate.  The LSU recruit compiled a 10-2 record and 1.71 ERA with 118 K's across 73 2/3 IP.  Brown also hit at a .336 clip with 7 HR, 5 2B, and 4 3B, to go along with 34 R and 26 RBI.

UTIL2023 Peyton Woods (Doyle HS)

The Jones College recruit had a phenomenal senior year, helping lead Doyle back to the state title game this past spring.  On the mound, he tallied a perfect 11-0 record with 106 K's in 76 IP.  He also finished the year with a .480 AVG at the plate, while hitting 4 HR, 9 2B, and 4 3B with 40 RBI.

UTIL2023 Jackson Legg (Calvary Baptist HS)

Legg capped off his high school career with a stellar senior campaign, helping the Cavaliers to a quarterfinal finish in 2023.  The LSU-Eunice recruit went 10-2 on the mound with a 0.89 ERA and 61 K's across 62 IP.  At the plate, he finished the year hitting at a .422 clip with 4 HR, 16 2B, 4 3B, and 40 RBI.

UTIL2023 Michael O'Brien (John Curtis HS)

The Mississippi State recruit was like a stick of dynamite for the Patriots this past spring, helping John Curtis advance to the quarterfinal round of the Select DI playoffs.  O'Brien finished the year with a .417 AVG, while hitting 5 HR, 7 2B, and 2 3B, to go along with 32 R and 21 RBI.  On the mound, he finished the season with a 6-1 record and 0.25 ERA with 42 K's across 28 IP.

UTIL2024 Trey Hawsey (West Monroe HS)

The two-time former Future Gamer followed up his monster sophomore year with another impressive season for the Rebels in 2023.  The Louisiana Tech hit at a .375 clip with a team-leading 11 HR and 11 2B, to go along with 31 R and 43 RBI.  Hawsey also compiled a 1-1 record on the mound with 17 K's in 11 IP.

UTIL2023 Reese Ashworth (Dequincy HS)

The LSU-Eunice recruit did it all for Dequincy this past spring, leading the Tigers to one of their best seasons in school history.  Ashworth finished the year with a 10-2 record, 0.95 ERA, and an eye-popping 137 K's.  At the plate, he hit at a .437 clip with 10 HR, 9 2B, and 2 3B with 43 R and 32 RBI.
