Our Week 4 Edition of Diamond Notes is here, as we highlight some of the top performances, from across the state in Week 3 (03/14/22-03/20/22), as well as our Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week.  To submit your player(s) for next week's edition of Diamond Notes, please email Alex Armand ([email protected]) with the player's name, class, position, and any relevant statistics from the week.  We are fired up for what's in store in Week 5 and the rest of the season!

 

Player of the Week

Marshall Louque SS / RHP / Lutcher, LA / 2025

One of the state's top ranked players in the 2025 class, continued to tack on to his already impressive freshman campaign in Week 4.  Louque tallied six hits in fourteen at-bats, with two doubles, two home runs, eight runs scored, and six runs batted in.  One of his home runs was a walk off grand slam, in the bottom of the ninth inning, to beat Belle Chasse.   

 

Pitcher of the Week

Clayton Hebert OF / 3B / Episcopal School of Acadiana, LA / 2022

The Falcons improved to 4-2 on the season, after the team went 4-0 last week, and Hebert was a big reason for the team's success.  For the week, Hebert went 2-0 on the mound, after tossing eight innings.  He gave up zero earned runs, walked five, and struck out seventeen hitters.  

 

Other Top Performers

Chris Kelley C / C / Pineville, LA / 2022

The Louisiana Christian Signee was our Week 3 Player of the Week, and he continued his hot start to the spring last week.  Kelley finished the week tallying four hits in nine at-bats, with two home runs, one triple, and seven runs batted in. 

Brady Huffman 1B / OF / Pineville, LA / 2023

A two-way prospect; Huffman aided the Rebels attack both on the mound and with the bat last week.  He threw five innings, giving up only three hits and one earned run to earn a win.  At the plate, he finished four for ten, with two doubles, one home run, three runs batted in, and six runs scored.

Ashton Healy C / RHP / Carencro, LA / 2023

The junior third baseman had a stellar week at the plate for the Bears in Week 4.  Healy tallied nine hits in fourteen at-bats, with four doubles, seven runs batted in, and five runs scored.

Logan Smith OF / C / Jonesboro-Hodge , LA / 2024

Smith had a big week, both at the plate and defensively, for Jonesboro-Hodge HS in Week 4.  Offensively, he collected six hits in nine at-bats, with two doubles, five runs batted in, and four runs scored.  Smith also threw out the lone baserunner who attempted to steal a bag on him.  On the season, he is hitting a blistering .750 with an .810 on-base percentage and a 1.062 slugging percentage.

Cameran Christ C / RHP / Live Oak, LA / 2023

Christ picked up a big win on the mound for the Eagles last week in a matchup with St. Charles HS.  He tossed a complete game shutout, giving up only four hits and two walks, while striking out six hitters. 

Hunter Lavespere / Pineville, LA / 2022

Lavespere collected six hits in twelve at-bats for Pineville in Week 4, with one home run, one double, three runs scored, three runs batted in, and one stolen base.  In one game, he recorded five hits in five at-bats.
