2023 PITCHER OF THE WEEK

The Louisiana High School Pitcher of the Week highlights the best individual pitching performance for a Louisiana high school player from the previous week.  Each week, high school coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week.  If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please email Alex Armand at [email protected]

While there can only be one pitcher and player of the week, our Diamond Notes are intended to shine a spotlight on other noteworthy performances from the previous week.

 

 

WEEK 7 PITCHER OF THE WEEK

 

2024 RHP Camden sunstrom (University lab HS)

 

WEEK 7 STATS

-Earned Runs: 0

-Hits: 1

-Strikeouts: 12

-Walks: 3

 

Sunstrom was a 1st Team All-State selection a year ago and was a member of our Future Games team last summer.  The Southern Mississippi commit has been U-High's #1 on the mound since last season, so it was no surprise to see him take the ball in the Cubs district matchup against a stout Doyle team last Tuesday, and he delivered a brilliant performance.  Sunstrom ended up tossing a complete game (91 pitches: 65 strikes 26 balls), giving up only 1 H and 0 ER with 3 BB and 12 K's.
