3/15/24
6'1" 205 lbs. durable frame with a strong lower-half. This was our second look at the former Future Gamer this season and he turned in a solid outing against St. Amant last Friday night. The Southern Miss recruit had to battle through an inconsistent zone, but competed hard and made big pitches when he had to. His FB stayed around 87-88 mph and he induced several whiffs the pitch, while mixing in a 73-74 mph CB that was sharp with late bite down in the zone. The game was called early due to unfavorable weather, but Sunstrom still earned the win, after tossing 3 2/3 IP, while giving up 3 H and 1 ER with 6 BB and 6 K's.
2/19/24

6'1" 200 lbs. frame with a strong lower-half. The former Future Gamer got the starting nod on opening day against a talented Dutchtown squad and looked sharp for the majority of his outing. His FB sat 85-88 mph for the entirety of his 71 pitch outing, as he finished with 49 strikes to 22 balls, showing that he's still a supreme strike-thrower. Sunstrom mixed in an "11-5" shaped CB at 72-75 mph with above average spin and depth, while also flashing a 74-75 mph CH, that he was able to land against RHH's and LHH's. He ended up leaving the game in the fifth and walked away with a no-decision, after tossing 4.1 IP, while giving up 5 H and 4 ER with 0 BB and 6 K's.
