Eastern PA Fall Review Highlights

The Fall College Prospect Program got underway yesterday with a stop at Widener University for the Eastern PA Fall Reveiw. Following is a look at top in game performances as well as a look at a few prospects that shined during the showcase portion of the day. Complete statistical results on all prospects in attendance will be released tomorrow.

BLACK TEAM:

+ 2017 C/1B Hunter Spalt (Loyola Blakefield, MD) shined defensively, throwing out two would-be base stealers in the early game. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitter also went 2-for-6 at the plate while showcasing an 82 mph bat exit velocity.  

+ Uncommitted senior RHP Teagan Staver (Shippensburg) topped at 82 mph while working threes scoreless innings with three strikeouts. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound righty worked quickly and showed fastball command with late life.

BLUE TEAM:

+ Uncommitted senior 1B/RHP Dillon Good (Ephrata) turned in the top bat exit velocity on the day (94 mph), hit a two-run run home run and topped at 84 mph on the mound.

+ Uncommitted senior MIF Lee Smith (Caravel Academy, DE) impressed with a 5-for-6 day at the plate. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound switch-hitter displayed a feel for the barrel and a solid approach from both sides of the plate.

+ 2017 OF Jacoby Pate (Susquehanna Township) ran an event best 6.94 60-yard dash, showcased athletic defensive actions and went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in game action.

+ 2017 RHP/OF Nick Picariello (Germantown Academy) showcased an 88 mph arm from the outfield and topped at 83 mph on the mound with a 75 mph curveball.

+ 2017 C Sam Freedman (Penncrest) went 3-for-4 at the plate, and flashed a top pop time of 2.13

+ Uncommitted senior RHP Ed Herbener (MMI Prep) topped at 84 mph and flashed a biting 73 mph curveball in three strong innings of work on the mound.

+ 2018 RHP/MIF Nick Parker (Dallastown) flashed an advanced two-way skill set. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound sophomore topped at 85 mph on the mound while displaying command of a 78 mph cutter, a 75 mph changeup with arm side run and a 72 mph curveball.
