The 5th annual Elite Prospect Showcase took place October 28th at Keystone State Baseball Academy. Today we continue our analysis of the players in attendance by taking a look at position players from the Class of 2020.

Drew Butera, OF, Malvern Prep (PA)
5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitter starts from a wide, slightly crouched stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Creates consistent backspin with some present pop to the pull side and a bat exit velocity of 85 mph. Ran a 6.93 60-yard dash and flashed advanced arm strength from the outfield (88 mph) while consistently playing through the baseball. Has also shown advanced defensive abilities behind the plate at previous events.

Max Hitman, SS, Archbishop Carroll HS (PA)
5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride. Flashed advance rhythm and balance to his swing with the ability to create consistent backspin and a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. Ran a 7.01 60-yard dash and showcased advanced actions defensively that will make him a highly coveted defender in this class. Takes solid routes to the baseball, plays the ball in front and shows little wasted movement with effortless 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. Looks very comfortable playing the ball on the move and has much more arm strength in the tank.

Connor Offshack, 3B, Malvern Prep (PA)
6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and utilizes a leg-hang stride to initiate his swing. Displayed above average balance and an ability to backspin the baseball while making consistent loud contact. Registered an 89 mph bat exit velocity and flashed the potential to be a run producer at the next level. Showcased 83 mph arm strength and made the slow roller play look routine from third base. Also showcased the ability to handle defensive chores at shortstop and second base as a member of Team Pennsylvania at the 2017 PBR Future Games.

Kevin Reilly, C, Plymouth Whitemarsh HS (PA)
6-foot-1, 170-pounder has a prototypical catcher's frame. Showcased pop times of 2.08-2.15 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch. Limited wasted movement in his throwing motion with quick feet, a clean transition and stays directional. Ran a 7.37 and displayed some present power with a 91 mph bat exit velocity. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Showcased a short-swing path with balance and routinely found the barrel in one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day.

Charlie Yanoshik, SS, LaSalle HS (PA)
6-foot-1, 175-pounder with a prototypical shortstop frame impressed with a solid all-around skill set. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly crouched, square stance and initiates his swing from a high-hands load with a pronounced leg-hang stride. Lots of moving parts lead to some consistency issues in being on time to the hitting zone. Did show the ability to create some backspin with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Ran a 6.86 60-yard dash and showcased advanced defensive skill set for his age. Flashed a soft glove hand, light feet, and plays through the baseball very well. Displayed an ability to make plays on the move and made accurate throws from multiple arm angles with 80 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Joe Allen, C, Perkiomen Valley HS (PA)
5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride. Displayed solid rhythm and balance to his swing with an ability to create backspin. Barreled the baseball consistently with a bat exit velocity of 76 mph. Ran a 7.90 60-yard dash and showcased pop times of 2.26-2.34 on throws of 67 mph from the crouch. Overall games will benefit from physical maturity and continued strength gains.

Cam Conley, SS, Malvern Prep (PA)
5-foot-8, 145-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a leg-hand stride to initiate his swing. Demonstrated a solid feel for the barrel with an uphill swing path that creates some backspin. Registered an 81 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Displayed a soft glove hand and active feet with the potential to be an advanced defender. Showcased the ability to make throws from multiple arm angles with accurate 81 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Kyle Denisch, SS, Delone Catholic HS (PA)
5-foot-11, 150-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride. Tendency to drop his barrel to the hitting zone with a high back elbow load leads to some length to his swing. Uses a split grip on the bat and registered a 72 mph bat exit velocity. Gains ground well defensively while playing through the baseball consistently. Showcased the ability to make throws from multiple arm angles with developing 73 mph arm strength.

Spencer Heilveil, C, North Penn HS (PA)
6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a heel-raise stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a solid feel for the barrel with an ability to drive the baseball to all fields. Creates consistent backspin with a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash and flashed pop times of 2.16-2.24 with solid 74 mph arm strength.

Zach Ketterman, SS, Gettysburg HS (PA)
Athletic 6-foot-2, 175-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his barrel from a high-hands load with a toe-tap stride. Displayed some length to swing that should shorten up as he continues to add strength to his frame. Hands work well through contact with a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. Showcased active feet and the ability to play through the baseball with a quick release defensively. Current 76 mph arm strength will improve through physical maturity allowing him to remain on the left side of the infield at the next level.

Garrett Meckley, C, Kennard Dale HS (PA)
Physical 6-foot-2, 195-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short, leg-hang stride. Further work to get off of his backside would aid in the ability to create backspin and drive the baseball. Barreled the baseball consistently with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph and ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Showcased pop times of 2.16-2.24 on throws of 73 mph from the crouch.

Wyatt Metzger, C, Selinsgrove HS (PA)
5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a leg-hand stride to initiate his swing. Displayed an exaggerated uphill path to the baseball leading to consisting fly balls with a bat exit velocity of 85 mph. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash and showcased pop times of 2.25-2.31 on throws of 71 mph from the crouch. Athletic frame appears to be in early stages of development with considerable strength gains likely in the future.

Brock Piper, 1B, Big Spring HS (PA)
6-foot-3, 215-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a short stride to initiate his swing. Works through contact well and utilizes lower half effectively to generate 81 mph bat exit velocity. Ran a 7.70 60-yard dash and flashed above average glove work with active feet around the bag at first base. Registered 75 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Frank Pollock, C, Souderton Area HS (PA)
5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride. Displays some lower half glide but head and hands stay behind the baseball well. Barreled the baseball consistently with a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. Ran a 7.46 60-yard dash and showcased pop times of 2.19-2.28 on throws of 70 mph from the crouch. 

Tyler Schwarzman, 2B, Mechanicsburg HS (PA)
5-foot-8, 145-pound left-handed hitter starts from an open stance and incorporates a leg-hang stride to initiate his swing. Starts hands from a high back elbow launch point and drops barrel to the hitting zone leading to an uphill path to the baseball. Registered a 72 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.32 60-yard dash. Showcased accurate 69 mph arm strength across the diamond with a quick release, a number that will increase significantly as he works to get through the baseball and off his back side. 

Joe Sheets, OF, Salesianum School (DE)
6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short stride. Strong frame with power potential that should continue to develop with greater use of his lower half. Creates backspin with a bat exit velocity of 87 mph. Ran a 7.01 60-yard dash and showcased accurate 85 mph arm strength from the outfield with developing glovework.

Griffin Snyder, SS, Cedar Cliff HS (PA)
5-foot-9, 145-pound switch-hitter displayed similar swing mechanics from both side of the plate. The natural right-handed hitter showcased a slightly open stance with a knee-to-knee stride from both sides of the plate. Displayed a flat barrel path with a line drive approach and a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. Ran a 7.77 60-yard dash and showed capable glovework with a quick release and accurate 74 mph arm strength across the diamond from a 3/4 arm slot. Overall game will benefit from physical maturity and future strength gains.

Matt Turner, C, Downingtown West HS (PA)
5-foot-10, 200-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride. Drops hands from a high-hands position to begin his swing path leading to some length, but showed some pop to the pull side when on time with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Displayed sound receiving and blocking skills with pop times of 2.26-2.39 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch.

Conlan Wall, OF, Souderton Area HS (PA)
5-foot-8, 150-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and initiates his swing with a leg-hang stride. Displayed a solid feel for the baseball wile staying inside the baseball. Consistently barreled the baseball with a bat exit velocity of 77 mph. Ran a 6.88 60-yard dash and played through the baseball effectively defensively with four-seam carry to the plate on throws of 85 mph.

Ryan Weaver, 1B, Coatesville Area HS (PA)
6-foot-2, 195-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. High back elbow gets even higher in load position leading to length in the swing with a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash and displayed above average defensive skills around the bag at first base. Showcased a soft glove hand and active feet with accurate 75 mph arm strength across the diamond.
