BG 'Felt Like A New Home' For Krause

Jack Krause OF / SS / Brighton, MI / 2019

BRIGHTON - Growing up in a family of athletes certainly has pluses. But it can also have its downside.

“Growing up I would always hear my sisters bragging to me,” Jack Krause explained about older siblings that played college soccer. “To achieve what they got to do feels great.”

That accomplishment came with a recent commitment to Bowling Green.

“They first noticed me playing at the Black Swamp tournament,” the Brighton High School senior reflected. “We made the championship game and they ended up emailing me after that. Then they saw me at the Top Prospect Games. I did pretty good there. I ended up going on a visit and a week later I got offered.”

Two Big 10 schools (Michigan State and Purdue) were also being considered by Krause with Cincinnati and Xavier also in the picture toward the end of his recruiting process. But for the 34th-rated player in the 2019 class of Michigan, BG was the right fit

“I’ve always had a goal since I was a little kid to play Division I baseball, and the MAC is a great conference,” Krause said. “I liked the coaches and the facilities at BG. It’s close to home ... but far enough away. Parents, friends and family can come see me play. It just felt like a new home.”
