By Brent Alwine

In a marquee matchup between Grand Ledge's Corbin Clouse and Holt's Andrew Sabrosky, Clouse came out on top. Grand Ledge got on the board early and played excellent defense on Thursday night.  When the dust settled Clouse had thrown a one-hit shutout over CAAC rival Holt.

Grand Ledge started the scoring off in the bottom of the first as Keefer Johnson singled and was then drove in by Nate Langenfield’s sacrifice fly. In the top of the second inning Holt threatened with runners at second and third but Clouse struckout two with no damage done.

Michigan State commit Andrew Sabrosky struckout the side in the bottom of the second inning but struggled the following inning. Grand Ledge added four runs in the bottom of third inning led by Tyler Waldrop’s single and Lagenfield’s double for his second RBI of the game.

Holt threatened again in the top of the fifth as Clouse’s no hit bid was broken up by Jerry Lee’s double to right field.

Grand Ledge added one more run in the bottom of the fifth making it 6-0. Clouse got the win finishing with nine strikeouts on one hit, while Sabrosky would finish with six strikeouts on six hits.
