Draft League Spotlight: Tyler Bosma
April 19, 2021
Player: Tyler Bosma
Position: LHP
School: Miami University
Bosma was a two-sport standout at West Ottawa (Holland, Mich.) High, where he lettered in basketball all four years in addition to his exploits on the diamond. Bosma’s athleticism shows in his delivery, as the 6-foot-6, 235-pound southpaw attacks hitters with a fast arm following a short backside stroke. He sits in the low 90s, touching 94-95 mph, and mixes in a two-seamer that registers a few ticks softer but with good arm-side run. Bosma’s low-80s changeup has some late tumble that plays nicely off his heater, while his slider, another low-80s offering, is a potential backfoot weapon against righties thanks to its late downer action.
