PBR: Why did you choose Western Michigan University?
Cooper: Western Michigan was the top College on my list from the beginning. I’m totally fired up to be a Bronco! I have family that is close to Western and it was my goal for a long time to play ball for Coach Gernon. When I met the Assistant Coaches, McFerrin and Piotrowicz, I knew it was the right fit for me.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Cooper: I had considered; Oakland U, Madonna, and Northwood

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
Cooper: Probably on Prep Baseball Report, although I sent a letter and a link to my highlight video, and went to the WMU winter prospect camp.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment?

Cooper: I am currently playing summer ball for T2. I think my most memorable moment was from my high school season. We were playing a tough Lake Orion team and I pitched a complete game, I think I had about 7 strikeouts and the team played good defense behind me, we won 7-1.

PBR: Now that you have committed, what are your remaining goals for high school?
Cooper: I want to get good grades and work hard to be a better stronger pitcher. Most importantly I want to do anything I can to help Walled Lake Central win. I play with a lot of good players and I have coaches who believe in me.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced?
Cooper: Without a doubt it’s Garrett Breault from Howell. I have faced him a few times each year and he’s a very tough out. He’s a patient hitter with a short swing and he’s quick enough to waste tough pitches. I’ve gotten him a few times and he got me a few, It seems like it’s always a battle.
