Michigan State likes hustle and energy Jebb can provide

SAGINAW - Hustler.

That one word is how Mitch Jebb best describes himself as a baseball player.

It caught the attention of numerous colleges including Michigan State, the college Jebb grew up liking the most.

“Michigan State is the school I wanted to go to since I was a little kid,” the Saginaw Swan Valley junior said. “I grew up watching Michigan State games in every sport. That’s what I loved doing.”

The 21st-ranked player in the state’s 2020 class will not only have the opportunity to continue watching MSU athletics, but also play there after a commitment to the Big 10 school.

“They came to see a pitcher and I had a good couple games and they started following me,” Jebb said about how interest from Michigan State began.

PBR events and a winter camp at MSU helped solidify what Jebb could do on the ballfield for the Spartans. The Future Games in August capped off the recruitment.

“The Future Games was awesome,” Jebb said. “That really helped me. They were there watching. I didn’t play my best, but that’s how baseball is.”

It was good enough to receive an offer while on a recent visit to the university.
